Three 140s in a Test innings

Yesterday, three Indian batsman scored more than 140 runs each.
Here is a list of Test matches in which one side achieved three individual scores of 140 or greater in one innings.

Looks like the only way he hasn't been dismissed is "hitting the ball twice". You are out if you hit the ball twice at any time other than when it is heading towards your stumps. (One of the stranger laws of cricket...of course aimed primarily at disallowing double hits -- drop-dead defense followed by a big hit for six or four).

Kumble has equalled Courtney Walsh's tally of 519 test wickets. He's now placed 4th in the list of bowlers with most number of test wickets.
Warne (685), Murali (635) and McGrath (542) have the first 3 spots.

Kumbles's performance in the last 3 to 4 years is nothing short of a spectacle. He is clearly a better bowler now than what he was between the 1996-2000 period! The best part is, he is doing well on foreign pitches too, let it be England where we won a test or in Australia and now WI. Great going!!

Yes, indeed, Kumble has matured significantly with age and is now a far more potent bowler than he was prior to 2002. He has added variety (particularly the googly) to his armoury and turns the ball more now. The variety and unpredictability make him all the more difficult to play.

There's another way of getting out - "Timed out"

Law 31: Timed out: An incoming batsman must be ready to face a ball (or be at the crease with his partner ready to face a ball) within 3 minutes of the outgoing batsman being dismissed, otherwise the incoming batsman will be out.

Sehwag has scored 3996 test runs in 77 innings (avg of 53.6). Most likely he'll pass the 4000 run mark in his next test. That'll place him in 10th position for fastest 4000 test runs. Interestingly, he'll be the fastest Indian to scoree 4000 test runs.

Anil Kumble completed 200 away test wickets today.
His overall tally (home + away) is now 525 test wickets.

Sehwag completed 4000 runs in test cricket. He's the fastest Indian to score 4000 test runs (79 innings).

- The 100-run partnership with Laxman in the second innings was the 63rd involving Rahul Dravid. With this Dravid equalled Australian Allan Border's tally. It needed Dravid 91 innings lesser than Border to come at par with him. One more century partnership and he will equal another Australian Steve Waugh's world record of most century partnerships.

This statistics illustrates the staying power of Dravid..

Of all the batsmen who have scored more than 8500 test runs, Dravid (who passed 9000 in this test) has the highest batting average. I think he will soon have to be acknowledged as the greatest test batsman since Bradman, with only Sunny Gavaskar as competition.

Dravis also is the fastest to score 9000 runs. He achieved this feat in 176 innings, one less than record holder Lara. The top 5 are

Dravid - 176 innings
Lara - 177 innings
Sachin - 179 innings
Gavaskar - 192 innings
Border - 207 innings

Sri Lanka smashed record of highest ODI score against Netherlands ... Sri Lanka scored 443 runs to break SA's 438 runs previous record.
