This sounds like good news -- nice to see Anju George being picked as well. I think the
choice of the trustees also indicates the seriousness of the proposal. I look forward to seeing Mugu's comment on this plan/proposal.

A real shot in the arm for Indian sports?
Really great news and well overdue. I think this forum has been crying out for corporate India to wake up and I for one am glad to see that it has. Better late than never.
Let's hope we see some names hit the lime light in the next few years as a result of this program.

Great news indeed!
Is this the first of its kind or were there any groups before this?

It's a Trust where funds have been allocated by Mr Mittal and the funds will be distributed by trustees such as Mahesh and others.
There are no free lunches in life so I imagine the trust will enter into a contract with the aspiring sportsperson which may include some clauses.
I don't think there has been anything like this, on this scale before.

Somehow it is hard for me to comprehend that Mittal is doing something for India without any business interests!!There are no free lunches in life so I imagine the trust will enter into a contract with the aspiring sportsperson which may include some clauses.
Whatever, he is doing something good for Indian sports and should be appreciated.
