Good News!! Although I'm puzzled, Shiv has earned EPGA card for 2007
I'm not sur how but
read this story.
Kapur has also grown in stature following his magnificent triumph at the Volvo Masters of Asia in Bangkok last December. Since that success, he has earned his European Tour card for 2007 but hopes to return to winning ways in the Pulai Springs Malaysian Masters, especially after he had previously won the Malaysian Amateur Open.
"I last played in Asia in May. So Johor will kind of mark my return to the Asian Tour after a few months being in Europe. Now that I've got my European card, I want to get up on the UBS Order of Merit in Asia.
"I'm looking forward to the Pulai Springs Malaysian Masters as it’ll be a good field. I’ve had some success in Malaysia in the past and I'm looking forward to it," said Kapur.

Well, I guess Shiv's definition of a EPGA card is different from ours
Looks like he plans to play mostly on
the EPGA tour next year -- well that depends on how many tournaments he can get direct entries into.

I think Shiv should finish inside top 116 to get his card.
Currently he is 112 and with around 30k Euros assured in WGC event he will move upto 95th....
Since only some major events are left in EPGA tour, chances are that 20-22 players cant catch him....
Surely he has done enough to get his card.
By the way last year 174k earned card. Shiv will have 209k after this week.

Shiv secures his card.
It is now official and final.
He finished 116th.............last year top 116 earned cards. So just squeezed in.
But, this year card goes to the top 118.
Whichever way you look, he has got his playing rights for 2007. So all the press coverage of his securing card was a bit pre mature.
How unlucky can a player be
David DRYSDALE of Scotland finished 117 last year - missed card by 1 position.
So where does he finish this year - 119 - again missed card by 1 position........Tough luck

Shiv Kapur's interview with UNI from Kuala Lumpur ... He mentioned about his aims for the year like winning on european tour and go to the US PGA Tour Qualifying School next season ... But he is also ready to give himself more time on european tour if requires.

I was wondering what happend to Shiv Kapur as he witdrew after making the cut in Volvo China open. It seems that he was forced to withdraw from the tournament with a back injury as reported
here. I hope the injury is not serious and he'll be back soon.

Seven years after his first and only Major appearance, Shiv Kapur shot a six-under 64 in the second round of the 36-hole qualifier to earn a berth at the 2013 British Open. There were 3 spots available.
