Nottingham Challenger, 18-23 April 2005 ($25K+H), Hardcourt
Harsh Mankad, Prakash Amritraj and Mustafa Ghouse will be playing in the Nottingham Challenger next week.
Here is the website (currently fairly inert!):
http://www.lta.org.uk/SeeTheAction/Resu ... 5KMens.htm
(corrected after Samarth pointed out I was pointing to the wrong link; there is a Nottingham Open tour event on grass just before Wimbledon this year). This one is on outdoor hardcourts; I suspect it will be pretty cold in Nottingham at this time of year, but good to play during the day.

Is that the right link? It says the tournament dates are 5-10th July 2005!

I doubt there is another Challenger in Nottingham in July this year (although there was one in June last year). The LTA is a bit confused...
Sorry for the initial mixup, and thanks Samarth for pointing it out!

The qualifying draw is out ..
[Q1] (3) Prakash Amritraj (IND) BYE
[Q2] vs Nick McCowen (BR) or Dominic Inglot (GBR)
[Q1] Mustafa Ghouse (IND) vs Alex Miotta (GBR)
[Q2] vs (5) Kamil Capkovic (SVK,336)
Prakash could possibly face 6th seed Andrew Banks (GBR,391) in the Q3, and Mustafa could face Igor Zelenay (SVK,305).
Mustafa's match is at 10 am in the morning. The Q2 round is also tomorrow; so Prakash would play at around 2 pm or so against the winner of a 10 am match.

I won't make it there for 10am but I should be there in time for PA's Q2 match. I'll sms the score updates to Dhruv, if he is around, otherwise to PKB.

Excellent, S_K_S .. Here is the schedule page (ATP never leaves links for these, and so one has to guess the URL) ..

Thanks Samarth.
Good luck Kash and Mustafa. Both will be piping hot once they make the main draw.
Our Indian players must get some good matches under their belt to get ready for the Davis Cup.
Addendum:

Still in London as I had a meeting with a client that over ran. Won't make it to Notts until about 5pm. Will be there for the matches tomorrow.

Mustafa won Q1-6-4,6-0
PA's match started about 30 mins ago. No score update available.
I am going to be on the road for the next few hours. If anyone wants to call the tournament office and update the scores on here the number is 00 44 115 9220352

yes pa's through 4 & 2 , in the end a fairly easy win , especially after the initial scare the lady in the tournament office gave saying the match has been in progress of a very long time.
also kudo's to mustafa on winning his match , it is high time our guys started travelling together , i said it last time during fergana challenger and i believe it should be the norm , the swedes followed this system quite wonderfully and basically set standards , it not only relives pressure but it also instils a sense of friendly competition which basically produces positive results
