Dhamne is quite far from being a player on the mens tour. We can see what impact he has on the junior tour over the next couple of years.

Other than Sumit, we really have no else on the mens tour that is any good in singles. Yuki could still be a top 40 doubles player and so could a few others.

Absolutely no reason for him to do so. I think it was just a case of hubris -- and sudden build-up of pressure -- when playing the R1 of the men's doubles. Partnering the US Open finalist can be a bit intimidating, as anything that goes wrong is likely to be blamed on the partner. Did anyone watch the matches?

Well, the great captain of Indian Davis Cup thought that he was the reason for the loss.

I watched some part of Yuki-Bops match and it is not as if only Yuki was making mistakes, Bops too was making quite a few errors. They just did not seem to be gelling together well. Maybe their game does not complement each other well.

But, no reason for Yuki to be not playing well intentionally, missing out with all the accolades and prizes which come with an Asian games medal. Rutuja, Saketh and RamK are enjoying those accolades now. Bops was still in China though.

Yuki was playing poorly on the tour at least a month or more prior to the Asian Games. He’d have to be incredibly stupid to intentionally play poorly in the Asian Games when winning a medal would have been one of his highest profile achievements this year.

Looks like his form is turning around in that he’s at least winning 1 match per tournament.
