Thanks, IndiaSports. Keep updating the results.

This one of the most high quality world cup events with almost everyone turning up as this is the same range where world championships will be played later this year. Almost all the Rio medalists are here

In that context, it was a very good performance by Ravi Kumar and Round Babuta. Thus was clearly an Olympic medal potential performance especially by Ravi Kumar.

Someone really named their kid "Round"? Or is this some sort of nickname because he is rolypoly? Or is this auto-correct raising its head again?

ISSF World Cup Stage 2, Chongwan, Korea
Day 2

India again missed out on a medal.
In 25m Pistol event, Rahi Sarnobat finshed 4th.
She was consistent throught out and was leading half way thru, scoring a lots of 4s and 3s, but lack of perfect scores of 5 cost her a medal.
Galiabovitch who had lost to Henna Siddu in CWG two weeks back, claimed the Gold here.
Heena finished a dissapointing 37th and Annu Raj Singh 41st

In the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event, Apurvi and Ravi Kumar finished 5th in the final,
last world cup bronze medallist Mehuli Ghosh and Deepak Kumar failed to make the finals and ended at 8th spot.

In the women's Trap, Shagun Chowdhury, Shreyasi Singh and Seema Tomar finished 26th, 33rd and 47th respectively.

In men's Trap, Manavjit, Zoravar and Kyanan Chenai are lying 9th, 13th and 36th respectively after Day 1 qualifications with only top 6 qualifying to the final out of 90+ participants.

Trap seems to be one of the toughest events, with many people scoring perfect 25s. One slight change in wind or lack of concentration for even a second, can cost a lot in this event.

All these world cups are too tough.

Our shooters are making a habit of finishing fourth and fifth although being fourth and fifth in this olympic level field is quite good. But, hope we get some medals here.

Yes, and these Chinese have made a habit of wining medal in each and every event. They are simply too good and disgusting at the same time.

But I am happy with the depth in Indian Shooting, we have come a long way, now we are not dependent on any one or two particular player, plus atleast someone keeps making it into the finals.
We won a whopping 4 Gold medals last World Cup and 7 at the CWG, if I am not wrong the field in Olympics are a bit weaker than these World Cups, so finals here are also very good. They do not lack the talent, its just the nerves at the dying moment which cost them these medals, that needs to worked on. Saw this at the CWG with many of our shooter. Hopefully the NRAI is watching.

Plus, it also very difficult to peak week after week in Shooting, hopefully they will produce their best at the Asiad and later this year in the Olympic qualifications event.

Rahi Sarnobat's qualifying score is amazing actually. 588 would be easily enough for a finals in olympics. And it was her highest qualifying score in international competitions.
Heena's qualifying scores needs to improve for her to go the olympics. Wonder why Manu Bhaker was not in this event in both this world cup and CWG games when she was the only one qualified for finals in last world cup.

We do get a medal today. :D

Shahzar Rizvi got a silver in mens 10M Air pistol event. He had finished 6th in the qualification but did better in the final. In fact,in the end he shot superbly to almost bridge a big lead of the Russian gold medalist.

Chernousov wins breathtaking final by 0.2 to secure Air Pistol gold
Chernousov moved into the lead after the first ten shots (110.6 points). From there on, shot after shot, he started building a solid margin over his followers. By the 18th shot, he had collected 181.9 points, and a huge advantage of 4.1 points on his opponents.
Then, the match turned into a rollercoaster ride. Chernousov fired an 8.9 and a 9.4 shots, losing most of his lead. At the same time, behind him, Rizvi nailed a series of great shots, including a 10.9 on his 21st shot, coming as close as 0.2 points.
The last shot decided the final: Rizvi could not best Chernousov’s 10.0, and placed himself in second with a total score of 239.8 points. Nevertheless, today’s performance confirmed the great momentum of 23-year old Rizvi, who recently won the inaugural world cup stage of the season in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he also set a new world record of 242.3 points.
So, medal in second successive world cup for Shahzar Rizvi.

Superb by Shahzar Rizvi :notworthy: :notworthy:
Back to back world cup medals and he is also WR holder in the event.

I am worried about Jitu Rai though, finished poor 38th.

Today was disappointing day, Manu Bhakar finished 30th in 10m Air Pistol.
Heena Sidhu and Mahima Agarwal finished 14th and 27th.

In Trap team event, that last around of 20 from Shreyasi Singh cost us a final.

Lets hope something for tomorrow, We have three shooters in 50m 3P events.
And 10m Mixed pair events, Heena with pair up with Shahzar and Manu with Mitharval.
Surprisingly, no Jitu Rai.

Shooting World Championships start from tomorrow in Korea which is less that 6 hours away actually. First day we have 10m mixed rifle where 2 teams can qualify directly to olympics. For mixed events the only direct qualification is from here and the rest are from invitations...
