Not so good news from 50m Rifle 3P, none of the Indian made the finals. Parul Kumar finished 22nd, Sanjeev Rajput 25th.

Sourabh Chowdhary our 16 year old Qualifies into the finals of 10m Pistol event, finishes 3rd with score of 587.
Manu Bhaker too set to qualify in the women's 50m event.

Seems Manu Bhaker also qualified in 50m pistol event.

587 in the best score in qualifying for Saurabh. He had a 586 at Asiad where he won gold.

3 Koreans are in the final and Korea already has 2 quota places sealed in this event. So, it is a race between 5 shooters (China,India,Serbia,Germany and Thailand) for 2 quota places there.

Both Manu and Saurabh scored very well in the Qualifying.

Saurabh in the lead by more than 2 points after10 shots.

Saurabh more than 4 point lead after 16 shots.

Let me call it ahead, Saurabh wins the GOLD and confirms 1quota in 10 m pistol

Saurabh does it. Gold and a new world record.

Wins the final by incredible 5.7 points. He had the gold in his pocket by middle of the competition.

Manu Bhaker finished only 5th in the final and misses out in quota in 25M pistol. She is very good in qualifying in this event but has still to figure out the final format here. I am sure she would get the quota soon.

25m event is not her pet event though, especially the final format. She won her both World Cup golds in 10m. There is a crucial difference in final format between these 2 events. In 25m final anything less than 10.2 is counted as a miss where as in 10m final all shots are scored are counted in increments of 0.1
Right now she can lead the pack in the qualification round of both 10m , 25m but has been faltering in 25m finals.
I guess with a little practice she can turn formidable in both events

No quota in mens 10M Air rifle. I was expecting something from Ravi Kumar and Dipak Kumar who has won medals at CWG/Asiad. But, they were below par in qualifying and shot 626-627 when something above 628.4 was needed to reach the final.

Womens 10M air pistol tomorrow and let us see what Heena/Manu can do in that.
