Thanks Kathir for the news about Chennai Open. The first Chennai Open was a success and the second Chennai Open should be even better. The Indian coach Cyrus Poncha and the other Indian squash people should be complimented for organizing a good show in Chennai.
I wish some of the industrial giants in India realize that they are sitting on a gold mine, and I hope that they put some money into Indian squash and the many young talented Indian players.

Ghosal lost in straight sets to Hafiz as reported in the Hindu this morning. Hafiz is
an Egyptian playing for Qatar. I was wondering when Qatar started producing squash
players. The good news is that Hafiz is going to be in Chennai longer and will train
with the Indians. Nothing like a wily and crafty old pro to have around. I am sure our
Indian players will stand to gain a lot.

Excellent run by Sourav, nonetheless, to make the final here. He had been almost invisible after his British Open junior title (apart from a few team events), so it is particularly good to see him beating higher-ranked players quite handily. Ritwik was probably a bit more disappointing here, as his game appears to have stabilised (rather than continuing to improve) over the past 6 months or so.
