Some crazy scheduling for Jeevan as he and Bops are playing the Marseille Open ATP 250. I assumed Jeevan would continue in the US. But we can expect hopeful results this week ;)

Seeded #3, they are slated to face Australians Kyrgios and Matt Reid.

High chances for Jeevan to be picked in the DC team if they repeat their Chennai open success. :goodluck:

We were at the club in Marrakech yesterday. Vacationing in Morocco. Watched a few matches but missed Rohan's by 30 min or so. We did see Rajeev Ram, Coric, and a couple of others. Morocco is a fascinating country, some really nice and hospitable people. My son got to play for an hour on the red clay there (along with a bunch of other kids). Very close to the hotel.

Unfortunately leaving today.

Congratulations to Rohan Bopanna for winning his 16th ATP title and 4th master level title in Monte Carlo today along with Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay.

This new pairing had a scratchy start to their partnership with 2 first round and 1 second round losses. Good that they turned it around this week at the start of clay season.

I am kind of concerned about Rohan.

He doesn't seem to have a stable partnership. His former partner Mergea seems to have joined Aisam.

I wish one day again Indo-Pak express can unite as that is the only time I feel Rohan played his best tennis and showed great fire on the court. Even though they did not do well the 2nd time, I am very sure they will do better than what they are doing now, especially Rohan.

Seriously don't know if Rohan's latest partner is the one which is the right choice.

Cuevas' singles career is on an upswing at this moment. He seems to be one of those 30+ guys who are suddenly findng second wind that is taking them to heights they haven't reached before. I have a feeling that he will give singles a higher priority for the next couple of years. For a guy like Rohan, who is definitely on the downhill, Cuevas is not an ideal long term choice at all.

They have just won a Masters doubles title together, so I think the partnership is sound and will hold. Cuevas is in the midst of a purple patch in singles (Brazil Open title this year, QF at Monte Carlo Masters, QF at Indian Wells, and now SF at Madrid), but this has taken his singles ranking to 23, exactly where his doubles ranking is. I don't think he will reduce his commitment to doubles.

But the basic story is that, at 37, Rohan Bopanna's chance of ever winning a Slam title has probably passed. He unnecessarily got sucked into Davis Cup politics (and in fact in leading the anti-LP tirades), but they haven't done him much good.
