Excellent work by Isha: it's wonderful to see her taking her tennis seriously (especially in terms of overseas travel) this year for the first time in her career. And she is building on her successes to take bigger chances...

This tournament was on clay. So, good exposure for Isha. But unfortunately she could not make it thru to main draw.

Very close loss, but this is the sort of experience that will stand Isha in good stead. She needs to keep at it, and the results will surely come. She is already playing better overseas than she was in her first foray overseas (to Australia earlier this year).

Tough 1st round match-up for Isha . Intersting that both Isha & megha chose to play in this tougher challanger event then the easier ones in Delhi.

Oh, dear, tough losses after some nice successes elsewhere. Isha needs to hang in there, as making the transition to the Challenger is tougher precisely because you initially keep running into seeds in the early rounds (as she did here in both singles and doubles). I wish she and Megha would consider travelling and playing (doubles) together though.

Isha was also at qualifying of $75K Jounieh (Lebanon) challenger with Rushmi ... But she had poor result ...

Isha lost against same german player whom Rushmi defeated handily in fianl qualifying round.

If this is true, I have hopes for Isha again. Kept hearing from so many sources about her being her own enemy for so long, with a basketcase temperament. Not nasty or anything, but just out of whack at times and emotional. Go Isha, we all still believe that you have the talent to do it.

Co-incidently two Indian girls who were in a challanger abroad drew each other in 1st round.

At $ 25K Jounieh challanger , Lebanon

Singles -
[R1] LAKHANI, Isha (IND) d. CHAKRAVARTHI, Rushmi (IND) 62 64

Doubles -

[R1] LAKHANI, Isha / CHAKRAVARTHI, Rushmi (IND) l. HAIDNER, Stefanie (AUT)/ SASSI, Valentina (ITA) 75 36 (4-10)

Good win for Isha over Rushmi. But close loss in doubles.

This week one each $75K & $50K Challenger and five $25K Challengers r playing all over the globe .. I m surprised to see our girls r not taking advantage of it ... Tara, Bhambri sis and Sandhya should use such opportunities.

But happy that atleast these 2 playing here, though on clay.

So, Isha thrashed badly there in R2. But, still she should continue make forays abroad for such events to improve.
