Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
At the M25 in Cattolica, Italy (Clay)
[R1] (Q) Rushil Khosala (IND,1832) d. (WC) Daniel Bangolini (ITA,1267), 26 00 RET.
Just when we start getting a teeny bit excited about anybody, they go out of form or get injured. The story of Indian tennis. When will we ever improve on these things?

Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
Tanisha Kashyap (IND,1293) qualified into a Monastir (Tunisia) W15 for the 656th time. Seeded 5th with a Q1 bye, she beat Jordan Fenton (USA,ITF-1521) 62 60, and then got a retirement at 6-5 from the 11th seed Tahlia Kokkinis (AUS,ITF-566). In the main draw, she plays a qualifier, Maddalena Giordano (ITA,ITF-218).
Actually it is the 10th time she is qualifying in at Monastir out of 13 attempts. Really impressive in her focus and dedication. But she has a 5-12 record in the main draws... She needs to start winning something in the main draw to get some points.

Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
This week Tanisha directly made it to the main draw and bagled her opponent.
At Monastir W15, Tunisia
[R1] Tanisha Kashyap (IND,1299) d. (Q) Gala Arangio (ITA,1327) 60 60
Since start of the year, Tanisha has come thru qualifying and made the main draw in 7 of the 9 tournaments where she had to play qualifying in Monastir. Apart from there were 2 tournaments ( including this week) where she directly made the main draw. But, in 8 main draw appearances in Monastir this year, Tanisha has won first round in 5 of them and has lost in second round in all 5 of those.
She needs to at some point to go deep to make more points than 1 in each tournament.
Next,
[R2] Tanisha Kashyap (IND,1299) vs. Carola Cavelli (ITA,1235)
I think this is the best chance for Tanisha to go further in the draw. She had beaten Cavelli 60 61 in early May. Cavelli upset the 7th seed in first round here though.

Not sure what happened to her in that second set, but this was so nice to see. Tanisha getting some points (thought still not too much), for all the hard work the whole past year.

Parikshit Somani won the M25 doubles in France this week partnering Austrian David Pichler. Parikshit breaks into the top-300 with this title in the doubles charts. He’s slated to play the Troyes Challenger in France next week.

In fact Parikshit has been having good 3 weeks. He reached final in last 3 weeks- all with different partners ( first one with RamK) of which he won title this week. He is already at 288 in live rankings and with today's title should move up to 265.
He should get to play regularly on challenger tour now.

Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
Lots of lower ranked Indian mens players are playing in Congo, Africa these couple of weeks. This week there were 6 Indians players in main draw, 3 of them- 4th seed Rishab Agarwal, Chirag Duhan and Ishaque Eqbal. But, only Rishab has made it to the QF. He will play Egyptian Karin Mohmed Maamoun in the QF. 32 year old Maamoun is currently ranked 996 but was ranked at 225 about 6 years back.
