Karan will go past Rishab, SDPD and Sid V in ranking and will become the India #4 in live rankings behind Sumi, RamK and Mukund. That is terrific for a 20 year old, and great for us to see, knowing that those three are 26 and older now.

Yep. Karan is the new India #4. Sumit at #93, RamK at #358, Mukund at #471 and Karan at #661. Karan is at #631 in live rankings, so he will move up in the next rank list on May 20th to around that (or better, if he does well at Monaster this week).

4th week of continuous play, and Karan had entered doubles too this week. When will our players learn?

Anyway, he was up 75 54 and serving for the match today, got broken twice and retired. This shows he had reached a top-500 level now in his tennis (Van Wyk was in the top-350 earlier too)... But he needs to be healthy. He went back out there for doubles but retired there too at 1-4... That means it is not a terrible injury, but sometimes the "no broken bone" injuries are worse too, as they may linger. He needs to watch it and take breaks as needed.

Karan has entered M15 and M25 in the next two weeks in Ethiopia. I will personally take a rope and go to Ethiopia to tie him to a tree somewhere for a week, if he tries to play next week.

No Indian should ever play more than 4 weeks. If you have played singles and doubles for 3 weeks, do not play even the 4th week. Our players never learn.

Yes, he should have taken this week off and than play 2 weeks in Ethiopia. Now he may be forced to probably miss Ethiopia trip altogether. He should skip next week anyway but would prefer him to be there for M25 the week after which gives more points. That is why taking this week off was important.

Okay, I don't need to go to Ethiopia . Karan just withdrew from next week's M15. Still there in the list for the week after the M25. That looks just fine.

18 yr old Aryan Shah has a Junior Exempt entry to the M15 in Kingston, Jamaica, but the draw is not out yet. 18 yr old Rushil Khosla is the 9th seed in the qualies at the M15 in Monastir (TUN), and plays the 6th seed on Q3 after two very easy wins.

21 yr old Smriti Bhasin (IND,1259) missed the main draw cut by a whisker at the W15 in Toyama (JPN) and plays the Q1 as the top seed. Matches postponed with rain there too, to Tuesday.

Riya Bhatia was at the qualies at the W35 in Monzon, Spain, as the 8th seed, along with Sarmada Balu and both lost in the Q1 there. Ashmitha was a seed at the W50 in Annin, China, and lost in the Q1. I don't understand why some of these players go to all these tough events... but then again, there are not a whole lot of easy places to play this week, so can't blame them too much.

Oh, I missed that. Did not check the entries for that M15... It is so difficult to keep track these days, as Indians go all over the place. I should have remembered that Yuvan had moved to some academy in Sweden for training.

I wish ITF site had a facility to check where any player has entered, without having to check every event's entry list.

True, like Dartrankings where one can schedule of all players in ATP events. Unfortunately, ITF has been always like this. Only thing is we did not have to check at places like Sweden or Jamaica as Indians never went there.

Aryan Shah plays a qualifier Abraham Asaba (GHA,1701) in the R1 at Kingston, Jamaica, tomorrow.

Rushil had won two rounds at the Monastir M15 qualies losing just 4 games, but then lost the Q3 to the 6th seed where he won only 4 games. Kinda weird. Rushil is getting coached in Italy, but his results have been up and down in the few events he has played so far.
