This week there were 6 Indians players in main draw, 3 of them- 4th seed Rishab Agarwal, Chirag Duhan and Ishaque Eqbal. But, only Rishab has made it to the QF. He will play Egyptian Karin Mohmed Maamoun in the QF. 32 year old Maamoun is currently ranked 996 but was ranked at 225 about 6 years back.
Rishab lost to Mamouun, 26 67(4) at the Brazzaville, Congo, M25 QF.

Rutuja and Vasanti Shinde are in the W100 Figueira Da Foz ITF in Portugal this week.

Rutuja was not in the singles entry list, so this might have been a last minute decision from her to play only doubles. She’s slated to play in England next week at a W25 event in Foxhills.

At the W100 Figueira Da Foz, Portugal (Hard),

R1:

(4) Rutuja Bhosale/ Emily Webley-Smith (GBR) vs Sana Garakani (POR)/ Milla Segueira (POR)
Vasanti Shinde/ Isabella Shinikova (BUL) vs Estelle Cascino (FRA)/ Ylena In-Albon (SUI)

Chirag Duhan has reached the doubles final at the M15 in Monastir, Tunisia, partnering Garrett Johns (USA). They play the 3rd seeded USA pair Ryan Seggerman and Patrik Trhac today.

Our players had poor luck in singles, but have had a great doubles week. M15 THA, M15 TUN, W25 THA, W15 AZR ... All these events have Indians in doubles final, and all of them were unseeded!

^^^ Chirag and Garret Jones went down 16 36 against the 3rd seeds. So we ended up with 1-3 in the four finals by all these unseeded teams today. Not bad still...

There is a M25 Kigali in Rwanda this week. 12 Indians in the main draw. S D Prajwal Dev and Rishab Agarwal seeded 5th and 6th respectively.
In doubles, Sid Banthia/Karteek Reddy seeded 2nd and S D Prajwal/Ishaque Eqbal seeded 3rd. Expecting a win/runner-up in both the categories.

^^^ I think Chirag has good talent, based on the one time I saw him play, on an ITF live stream. That is probably why he is already having some doubles success, like many from India. To do well in singles, somebody needs to coach him rigorously on a lot of details and he needs to get a bit stronger physically. I doubt those things are happening. The age old problem of coaching in India. Many of our players need to learn things the hard way over many years, and by the time they become half-way decent on the pro singles tour, they are too old :(

Sowjanya, and Shrivalli made the main draw as among the last couple of entries at the W25 in Perth, AUS (hard) this week. Sravya was the 2nd seed in the qualies with a bye and made the main draw with a 64 75 win over an unranked 15 year old Australian. Thee three are there for next week's W25 in Perth as well, but they are 5th, 6th and 11th out from the main draw. It doesn't look like we should start a thread for the 2-week W25 series in AUS, so let us keep the results here. Or can move the posts if any of them do well.

Teja, Smriti and Vaishnavi are in the main draw at the W15 in Monastir. The first two play the top seed and the 3rd seed. Vaishnavi got a wildcard in R32. Three less-known Indians are in the final qualies today there (Pari Singh, Addi Gupta and Lakshmi Singh).
