Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
Second seed Jennifer Luikham lost against Salma Drugdova (SVK,1132) 57 36 in second round.
Jennifer has played 11 straight weeks here in Tunisia since the week of 20th February. She is not in the entry list for next week. So, seems to be finally taking a break from here.

Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
Jennifer needs to take good break and address whatever was the issue causing all the losses. She would start well in almost every match but would lose steam, and would invariably lose crunch points (like clock work), so mental issues like lack of confidence which could be resulting from physical issues too, are surely the reason for all those losses. It didn't matter whom she was playing. She just was not getting it done. She needs to really figure out what is going on, rather than stay in Monastir and pile on more losses to her record. But the problem is that her rankings will really drop steeply soon.

Vaishnavi lost in SF.
At Monastir W15, Tunisia
[SF] (Q) Vaishnavi Adkar (IND,ITF-662) l. (3) Julia Stamatova (BUL,780) 46 26
Anyway, after these points are updated 2 week later, Vaishnavi will have 7 WTA points and a ranking of around 1200. Looks like she is not in the entry list next week and has ended her stint here.

How cool would it be if V.Adkar decided to stay and requested a MD WC for next week! With her current form, she might as well collect few more points.
+ Tanisha Kashyap is back, but still having to play in the qualifying draw.

Vaishnavi did not ask for a wild card. Tanisha Kashyap qualfied for main draw. She was 5th seed in qualies. Got a first round bye, beat unranked Italian Elena Margaria 60 61 in Q2 and beat Chinese Jiayu Xu (ITF-1342) 62 61 in Q3.
Up against fellow qualifier next,
At Monastir M15, Tunisia
[R1] (Q) Tanisha Kashyap (IND,1311) vs. Carola Cavelli (ITA,1225)

^^^ Nice win for Tanisha. She seems to be a decent 700-range player when she establishes herself to play more frequently. Her R2 opponent is a 17yo #17 ranked junior player. Should be a tough match.

Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
Yeah, Tanisha is quite definitely going up to a top-750 level. Played a decent match but fell to Stoiber, 67(2) 36. Was down two breaks but broke Stoiber as she served for the match and then got broken to lose the match. Tanisha picked up one more point. She keeps adding some points but needs to get 3 or 4 main draw wins in a row to get some big points to move up.

Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
A whole Indian crowd will be at the M15 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia next week, it seems. Digvijay Pratap Singh, S D Prajwal Dev, Karan Singh, Rishab Agarwal, Dev Javia, Nitin Kumar Sinha, and Ishaque Eqbal are in order in the main draw entry list (Dig at #4, SDPD at #7 and Karan at #8 in original entry). Then in the qualies list, we have Jagmeet Singh, Yash Chaurasia, Chirag Duhan, Parth Aggarwal and Tushar Madan.
It seems Niki will also join for the following week.

^^^
I think we should have a thread for this tournament as I suppose 2-3 of Indians will be seeds.

Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
Tanisha Kashyap (ND,1311) qualified in for yet another W15 in Monastir. She was the 4th seed. [Q1] Bye... [Q2] d. Lena Thomas Iglesias (FRA,ITF-1948) 62 63... [Q3] d. Selya Rakki (FRA,ITF-1030) 57 60 [10-5] ...
She joins Sharmada Balu and wildcard kid Jannat Chirpal (Dubai-based if I remember correctly) in the main draw. Sharmada faces the 8th seed and Tannisha the 7th seed in the main draw though. Tough life for Tanisha, and she is being made to earn every point on tour. Keep it up, lady.
