Asian PGA Tour - Mercuries Masters at Taipei, Taiwan
2nd Day Update

Arjun Singh and Harmeet Kahlon made the half way cut while Amandeep Johl missed it The cut was applied at (+4). Arjun and Harmeet had a much better day today with sub par score as they shot 71(-1) and 70(-2) to have a total of (+2) and (+3) respectively. Good recovery by Harmeet after a first day round of 77.

The leader is still Thongchai JAIDEE with a toatal of (-6).

Arjun Singh has a chance to boost his rank in the Order of Merit for this year, where he is currently at 22, while Amandeep who is ranked 11 will have to wait for the next tournament. Harmeet is ranked 56 and he should also move up. I think top 60 keep their card - not sure.

Arjun SINGH 75 71 (+2)
Harmeet KAHLON 77 70 (+3)
Amandeep JOHL 77 75 (+ 8)

:) Arjun Singh did make a move with a card of 67 (-5) as he is now T6 on the leaderboard with total of (-3). Good to see some one continuing to represent India in top 10 in the absence of Arjun Atwal and Jyoti.

Go Arjun!!

Harmeet had a 2 over par round with a card of 74 and he is T34 on the leaderboard with a total of (+5).

Mercuries Masters, Asian PGA Golf

Post by BSharma »

Thongchai Jaidee (68, 70, 67) of Thailand seems to be running away from the competition but Arjun Singh (75, 71, 67) has stayed with the leader on the 2nd and 3rd days. I hope Arjun has a good last day and can move up from his 6th position at the end of the third day. Go Arjun!

Harmeet Kahlon has a harder task after having only one decent round (77, 70, 74).

It appears that the course is tough for all golfers as only eleven players are below par after three days.

I was away so I couldn't update the scores of the final day. Arjun Singh did move up from thr T6 position 4th spot. :)
In the process he made cool $19,000. Arjun Singh in his final round scored 71(-1). His tally for the tournament is -4 (75, 71, 67, 71). As Bsharma mentioned earlier, the course looked tough and after final day only 10 players were below par.
Harmeet finished T41 with last day score of 76 (+4). Not a good tournament for him.

The last day most of the playrs carded positive scores. Thongchai Jaidee lost the top spot after scoring +4 (68, 70 ,67, 76). The winner Lin WenKo was also +1 (70 69 68 73 )

Nice tournament for Arjun, and as I mentioned earlier, it is nice to see other Indian players coming in top 10 in APGA, filling up the vacuum due to Jyoti Randhawa and Atwal playing in other tours.

After this tournament Arjun Singh moved from 22nd position to 14th position in the 2003 Order of Merit, while Amandeep Johl, who failed to make the cut, dropped by one spot, from 11th to 12th. Arjun Atwal is the current leadeer of the Order of Merit

Korea Open - second day

Post by BSharma »

Amandeep Johl and Harmeet Kahlon made the cut today but Arjun Singh missed it by one stroke.

Amandeep fired a round of 70 on a day when many golfers had poor rounds and moved up from 80th spot to a tie for 25th place.

Harmeet barely made the cut with rounds of 75 and 76 and is tied for 60th place.

Arjun Singh moved up from 96th place to a tie for 69th spot with a round of 74 today but missed the cut. :(

Good recovery by Harmeet. Amandeep also maintained his position. if they have another good round, they can enter top 10.
