BWF European Tournaments - October 2025
4 weeks of tournaments in Europe which starts whit week with super 500 in Finland, Super 750's in Denmark and France and ending with Super 500 in Germany.
This week one great result from 18 year old Anmol Kharb who has beaten 2 Taiwanese ranked 21 and 32 in the first 2 rounds and today beat Dane Amalie Schulz to reach her first super 500 SF.
With this run, Anmol will make it to top 50 in the world rankings.
Last week another 18 year old Shriyanshi Valishetty won super 100 title in UAE and just made it to top 50.
Now, among girls we have under 19 players in top 50- Unnati Hooda (31), Rakshita Ramraj (41), Tanvi Sharma (46), Shriyanshi Valish(50) and now Anmol Kharab.
That is quite a great pipeline and hope couple of them make it to to 10-15 in next couple of years.
Anmol plays world champion Akane Yamaguchi in the SF.

Anmol lost 10-21 13-21 against Yamaguchi. Good that she did not get totally blown away against world champion. Hope this week gives her the hope move up faster going forward.

At Denmak open super 750, Lakshya Sen had an excellent upset win over world #1 Dane Anders Antonsen in straight games in second round and he is thru to the QF.
In mens doubles, SatChi are thru to the QF as well.

SatChi are thru to the SF with a 3 games win over an Indonesian pair. Their 7th SF of this year and 4th consecutive one. They have become quite consistent again after the setback at Paris last year.
Lakshya's match against French Alex Lanier coming up shortly.

Laskhya got beaten easily against Lanier 9-21 14-21;. He has been so inconsistent these days. Gets a great win one day and loses tamely the next match.

SatChi lost in the semifinals again, they are back to their usual levels but have now developed a habit of "choking" in the semis or finals where their level seems to drop.

Re: BWF European Tournaments - October 2025
Good performance so far by our players at Hylo open Super 500 in Germany.
3 of our players are thru to the QF in mens singles- Lakshya Sen ( good win over 5th seed Christo Popov in first round and a win over compatriate Sankar Muthuswamy who himself had a good win over #22 Malaysian player in first round), Ayush Shetty who had an excellent win over Loh Kean Yew in second round and Kiran George ( win over Kidambi Srikanth in first round and 8th seed Toma Junior Popov in second round.
2 of our 18 year olds have reached womens singles QF- Unnati Hooda ( win over 8th seed Julie Jakobsen in second round) and Rakshita Ramraj ( win over fellow 18 year old Shriuanshi Valishetti who herself had upset third seeded Dane in first round).
Lakshya against 4th seed Frenchman Lanier, Kiran against 2nd seed Jonathan Christie in QF, Ayush against 55th ranked Finnish player.
Unnati against 4th seeded Taiwanese, Rakshita against 6th seeded Dane.
Except Ayush everyone else is playing a higher ranked player. Anything more than 2 in the SF will be great.

Only Unnati Hooda makes it to the SF as she beat WR 24 Lin Hsiang Ti as she defeats the Taipei opponent in straight games 22-20, 21-13.
Rakshita lost in straight games against Dane Christophesen.
Among men, Lakshya took his higher ranked French opponent to 3 game but lost 15-21 in the third game.
Ayush Shetty had a heartbreaking loss. After being tied 1 game all, Ayush made a comeback from 12-17 down and led 20-18 but lost the next 4 points against Finnish opponent.

Re: BWF European Tournaments - October 2025
Unnati Hooda is seemingly taking the next step up. Now we need Ayush Shetty to also do the same.
Lakshya continues his pattern of getting some really good wins but being very inconsistent.

Re: BWF European Tournaments - October 2025
Unnati lost in the SF against top seed world #7 Putri Kusuma Wardani 7-21, 13-21.
So, top 10 players are still a bit far for Unnati to compete against it seems. But, as of now she will be up in top 30 at #28 and India #2 behind Sindhu.
