[R2] Anahat Singh (IND, 57) l. Sivasangari Subramaniam (MAS, 8) 10-12, 11-9, 8-11, 7-11
Not a bad match at all by 17 year old against 26 year old Asian games gold medalists. Hopefully, in a couple of years time Anahat will start beating these players.

Re: Anahat Singh- New sensation
Anahat Singh is the Asian junior champion in U-19 singles category. She won the whole event without dropping a single set. She also won mixed and women's doubles asian championship in senior category. This is insane. She couldn't participate in singles category as she missed domestic trials. Now, she will play world junior championship starting 21st July. Good progress so far!

Re: Anahat Singh- New sensation
Anahat Singh has reached the SF of world junior sqaush championships at Cairo with some easy wins. It seems all 3 other semi finalists are Egyptians. So, it will not be easy for Anahat to win next 2 matches. Lets see.

Re: Anahat Singh- New sensation
She is the only non Egyptian amongst the 8 semifinalists in men and women sections. She defeated another upcoming Egyptian, 14yo, Malika Elkaraksy. Anahat lost in the QF stage for last 3 years in a row. So finally a medal for her. Next she meets the same girl to whom she lost in the semi finals last year. Hopefully she being the higher seed is able to turn the tables this time. After that against Orfi I don't think she stands a chance. Orfi is going to be the next All time great and she has already won this tournament 3 years in a row and is going for 4th straight win hoping to break Nour El Sherbini's record of 3 titles.

Anahat lost in the SF of world junior championships. Egyptians are still tough nut to crack in squash.

She goes one step better and defeats world #7
In what can only be described as a breakthrough week for Indian squash, 17-year-old Anahat Singh has produced back-to-back upsets at the Canadian Women’s Open 2025, storming into the semifinals after dismantling defending champion and World No.7 Tinne Gilis of Belgium in straight games 12-10, 11-9, 11-9 in just 36 minutes.

Re: Anahat Singh- New sensation
Anahat lost in the SF in straight games against world #10 and last commonwealth games champion from England.
Still, best week of her career at senior level for 17 year Anahat beating 2 top 20 players back to back and she is slated to make it to 35 after this performance.
