A bit of an old news but I am surprised that there hasn't been any thread regarding this. India has officially submitted an expression of interest for hosting the 2030 edition of the CWG. Unsurprisingly, Ahmedabad is being put forward as the host city since the facilities are already being built for the Olympics. Besides Ahmedabad, Nigeria's Abuja and Canada also submitted expression of interest. Canada has emerged as the favorites considering the fact that they also hosted it in 1930 which is exactly 100 years before the 2030 edition (as a symbolic gesture).

So what do you guys reckon? A white elephant or perhaps a way to cement a legacy. (It would be poetic in my opinion to have the 100th year of the commonwealth games in India)
