A number of surprises, including a pleasant one of the second seed being knocked out by an Indian:

[R2] 1-Jay Clarke (GBR, 298) d. Grigoriy Lomakin (KAZ) 60 61
[R2] 8-Dev Javia (IND, 606 CH) l. Chirag Duhan (IND, 947) 57 64 36
[R2] 4-Karan Singh (IND, 490) vs. LL-Rishi Reddy (IND, 1781) 63 62
[R2] Q-Ishaque Eqbal (IND, 1032; CH 768) l. 6-Taguchi Ryutaro (JPN, 572) 57 16
[R2] 5-Aryan Shah (IND, 567) d. W-Madhwin Kamath (IND, 2073) 64 64
[R2] Matsuda Ryuki (JPN) l. 3-Alexandr Binda (ITA) 46 64 57
[R2] Q-Kriish Tyagi (IND, UNR) d W-Nitin Kumar Sinha (IND, 1202) 46 64 61
[R2] 2-Moeran Buzargi (AUS, 403) l. Siddharth Vishwakarma (IND, 790) 67(5) 46

So, 5 Indians in the QF, of whom 2 (SidV and Kriish) play each other.

So far, only one half-Indian pair (Adil Kalyanpur/Kody Pearson, AUS) is in the SF. Dev-Chiraq are yet to play their QF against Madhwin/partner. Maan Kesharwani (last week's champion) lost the QF 06 16 against the Japanese top seeds. Karan-Aryan lost 46 46 to Nick Chappell and Lomakin.

Aryan, Karan, and Chirag play higher seeds. I am hoping Aryan pulls through ... and others will be gravy.

No, Karan plays a lower seed. We should be hoping to have 3 Indians in the singles SF. If Chirag can beat Jay Clarke, it will be icing on the cake.

If Aryan can beat 3rd seed then it guruntees atleast an Indian in finals ...
Saw Aryan play, looked in good form, he moves well never seemed rushed , uses slices , drop shots, volley... And also match point underarm serve 😄
His serve has improved quite a lot compared to last year, able to hit spots well, seved few Aces today.
He definitely reminds me Bublik...
Hope to see him go higher and play ATP levels in couple of years...!!

Good to see our youth coming through! We have a 17 year old, a 19 year old, and two 21 year olds among the quarter finalists.

Yes, nice to see all those youngsters moving thru to the QF. But, now is the real test playing against higher or similar ranked foreign player. Getting wins against those will count for key points especially for Karan and Aryan, I am not expecting Chirag and Kriish to win. They have already done better than what was expected of them this week. Anything more will be a bonus.

Also, since this is a M25, the points are significant for making SF -- 8 points which is the same as a M15 final. Winner/finalist make 25/16 points which is more than winning a M15 tournament.

Unfortunately, QF's only get 3 points -- 4 points would have been a fairer allocation.

Nice wins for Aryan and Karan to make SFs. Krish is locked in a battle with Sid to determine 3rd Indian in SF. Duhan loses tamely to Jay Clarke.

Great to see 17 year old Kriish, 19 year old Aryan and 21 year old Karan make the SF of M25 futures.

From not being ranked at all, Kriish now will at least go to 1200's with 8 points and into top 15 ATP ranked players under 18 years although that will be only for a month as he completes 18 in about a months time.

Aryan will be around 520 now, a win against Kriish in the SF will take him to top 500 and that will give him special exempt spots at challengers reserved for under 20 players.

Yes, it's very nice to have a cohort of 5 youngsters on the men's singles side who look as if they will credibly provide the next hope for Indian men's tennis. On the women's side we had Sahaja, Shrivalli and Vaidehi (admittedly all a bit older than this men's cohort) and 15 year old Maaya providing hope of succeeding Ankita Raina (the 12-time India annual #1). Now we have 21yo Karan, 19yo Aryan and the trio of 17yo -- Manas, Kriish and Rethin -- providing solid hope on the men's side.

[SF] 2-Adil Kalyanpur/Kody Pearson (IND/AUS) d. Dev Javia/Chirag Duhan (IND/IND) 63 76(2)

The second seeds will play the final tomorrow against the unseeded pair of Nick Chappell/Grigoriy Lomakin (USA/KAZ), who beat the top seeded Japanese pair in the other SF.
