Re: M15/M25- Chandigarh/Ahmedabad/Bengaluru-March 2025
^^^ That was a nice upset of the experienced 6th seed Dheeraj, by Arjun. But Arjun then went down to Faisal Qamar, who had upset the 10th seed Shivank Bhatnagar...
An unusual number of upsets in the qualies at Chandigarh so far. 23 year old Sarthak Suden (never ranked in even ITF) upset the 9th seed Yash Yada and the top seed Parth Aggarwal (IND,1463) to make the main draw. 2nd seed Bharath Kumaran, 3rd seed Raghav Jaisinghani, 4th seed Kruthik Kalyaan, 5th seed Pranav Karthik, 8th seed Sai Karthik Reddy Ganta -- all have gone down, mostly to Indians. Sarthak, 12th seed Mann Kesharwani, 14th seed Abhinav Sanjay Shanmugam, wildcard Dalwinder Singh, and wildcard Faisal Qamar won the Q3 to be among the 8 qualifiers. 7th seed Rohan Mehra seems to be winning against a Japanese and 15th seed Aryan Lakshman seem to be losing to an Italian in ongoing matches.

Re: M15/M25- Chandigarh/Ahmedabad/Bengaluru-March 2025
^^^ Aryan Lakshmanan lost the Q3 but Rohan Mehra was up a set when the match was postponed to tomorrow during the second set [EDIT: Rohan won in an STB next day; so 6 Indians made it in].
Here is the qualifying draw/results from the ITF M15 in Chandigarh (Hard).
The main draw is out, with the Q/LLs yet to be placed. Here is the singles main draw

Re: M15/M25- Chandigarh/Ahmedabad/Bengaluru-March 2025
^^^ We have few intresting matchups in first round,
Dev Javia Vs Chirag Dhuan , both didn't have good season so far, Javia would like to return to winning ways.
Kriish Vs Stefan Vujic, Australian rankings suggests not so good player having played few seasons and still haven't broken top 1000, Kriish should be able to win
Prajwal Dev Vs Eqbal should also be intresting but Prajwal would be clear favourite.
Karan second seeded would face a qualifier and second round would be Yuva Nandal / Qualifier, Karan should make a deep run and would be even better can win the whole thing
Jay Clark top seeded British plays against Siddhant Banthia who is coming from fresh doubles title, Clark was traveling with whole family when I saw him at Bengaluru open, he looks more like a Brazilian football player thana Tennis player..lol

^^^ Also Digivijay Pratap Singh making his comeback against 8th seed Grigory Lomakin of Kazakhstan. DPS has a much better career high ranking of top 500 compared to Lomakin ( 713) but he is getting back after one and half years break. So, this match will show where he is in term of fitness and game.

^^^ I thought I heard that DPS had already moved to pickleball or padel (collectively I call that tamasha "piddlyball")... Am I making this up in my mind?

Re: M15/M25- Chandigarh/Ahmedabad/Bengaluru-March 2025
Good question. Jay Clarke obviously loves playing in India, where he had some of his earliest successes. His career hasn't quite got to where it should have, so he probably wants to rejuvenate it by returning to the country where he had those early successes...sameerph wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 4:49 pm

^^^ Hope some dirty pillows and bad food will put an end to his rejuvenation plans and he will stop coming for the M15s

That was an encouraging scoreline from Digvijay, on return from such a long layoff.

It was an injury-induced layoff apparently, but he was happily playing the silly plastic-ball games (which perhaps require lower levels of fitness
).
