Gambhir should make a bold call for Champions Trophy, if he wants his stinct to extend a year or two more. Top order has fully failed against spin on the likes of Hasaranga, Vandersay, Wellalage, better not to say how they handled Santner, Aizaj Patel and that part timer Phillips. England spinners won't trouble them much in upcomming odi series.
Bangladesh has got good spinners. Pakistan who are now doing well in Odis has a mystery offie with a new chinaman talent, and lastly India knows very well about New Zealand

Re: ICC Champions Trophy 2025
We should be fine in flatish pitches. Gambhir went in with the stupidity of getting in a second spinner in Melbourne that may have cost us a draw there. We should have stacked the team with batters. Spinners or pacers, we need a team that bats until #8. That is how we won the T20IWC. That and the singular genius of Bumrah, who picked himself up and also got Arshdeep to bowl superbly. Recent performance is preferred and everyone should be asked to play domestics - otherwise not chosen. However, experience also means something and nobody who does not have a body of work including recent work should be chosen on knee-jerk reactions.

Re: ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Karun Nair has made 664 runs in the Hazare Trophy so far, with an average of 664 (out just once)!! He made 111* against a strong Tamil Nadu bowling side, and today made 122* off 82 balls against Rajasthan, whose attack included Khaleel Ahmed (0-85 in 10), Deepak Chahar (0/46 in 7) and Manav Suthar (who played for India A in Australia). Can there be any reason at all to leave him out of the Champions Trophy squad (as well as the LoI matches against England before that)?

Re: ICC Champions Trophy 2025
Let's recollect memories of CT. This tournament for India has been a lifeline when fixing saga took place back in 2000. Protest was going on and new skipper Ganguly had to take out the team and country's enrich cricket out from darkness. A new team build with seniors like Ganguly, Sachin, Robin Singh, Kumble, Prasad and comeback man Vinod Kambli, but whats eye catching was 19 years Yuvraj and pace sensation Zaheer Khan
