Re: Misc. news about Indian hockey
Play more with Pakistan? And it will help India get better? He seems to be motor mouth after spewing nonsense about Kohli’s fitness and yoyo test. He needs to be coached off the field.

^^^^Who is he referred to above?
Agree with the premise that playing poorer teams like Pakistan will help them more than us. Playing the top 10 teams is where our focus should be. The FIH Pro League is a good league for us to play the other top teams. To take full advantage of it though we should play our younger and upcoming players in the Pro League matches. The planned Hockey India league should also be a good place for our younger players to develop.

Re: Misc. news about Indian hockey
It's a waste of time to play Pakistan, apart from improving our terrible record against them.
Play the youngsters in the Pro League and don't worry about ranking points. We were not great in the lead up to Paris but put up an impressive show. This is what Germany does all the time

Major Dhyan Chand Stadium gets facelift ahead of India-Germany hockey series
Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey is hoping for a good turnout, considering hockey’s growing popularity after two consecutive Olympic bronze medals.
“Earlier domestic tournaments used to be held in Delhi in a very spectacular manner. I, too, made my international debut in Delhi through the Indira Gandhi Gold Cup in 1995. A large number of spectators used to come here, and we also want that the glory of hockey to return to Delhi,” Tirkey told PTI Bhasha.
“After the Tokyo and Paris Olympics, the popularity of hockey has increased manifold, and now the stadium will be waiting for the spectators,” said the legendary former defender.

They also noted that there is no need for an upgrade because this is a world-class stadium in which the World Cup and Commonwealth Games have been organized.
The stadium also houses a Hockey Academy of the National Center of Excellence of the Sports Authority of India in which regular practice takes place. Apart from this, under the ‘Come and Play’ scheme of SAI, some children come and play hockey, and are very excited about these matches.

Re: Misc. news about Indian hockey
Is there a website that has all time records of Indian hockey? Wikipedia doesn't have much outside the big tournaments. Surprisingly Pakistan's all time records are available on Wikipedia. They even have Indian football's all time records. Cricket is easy to get but nothing on Indian hockey.
