Our challenge at Arctic open ended today in second round.

Everyone lost to a higher ranked player except Sindhu to Canadian Michalle Lee of Canada. Lakshya lost today in 3 close games against Taiwanese Chou Tien Chen in his first match since Paris Olympics.

Clearly we are drifting lower. Sindhu was expected. But for the challenge to end in the second round is tough to believe. Usually someone or the other pushes through

True. Juniors are really doing well. Unnati Hooda won her 1st ever match at Super 500 level before going down against Michelle Li (CAN). I watched the match. In First set, Unnati got schooled by Michelle. You could see the rookie mistakes but second set Unnati made it even and lost close 19-21.
She will reach new career high rank 47 next week. Pretty good for recently turned 17 y/o.

Moving on too World junior Champ. which is going on, Tanvi Sharma made it to QF and will face reigning Asian Junior champ Xu Wen Xing (CHN). Pretty insane as she is only 15. QF match is in 2-3 hours. Anmol Kharb also won 2 international level titles back 2 back few weeks ago. But she hasn't participated in World juniors don't know why.

It's truly exciting times for WS right now as we will be witnessing one of these players make it big in 2-3 years time.

It's insane that Unnati fared better than Sindhu against Michelle. Especially second set where Unnati lost 19-21. She was far better player but made lots of stupid unforce errors. Michelle was struggling to retrieve Unnati's smashes and looked like gassed at the end of the match. With some luck Unnati could have won. There is a chance Unnati will meet her again next week in 2nd round of Denmark open.

Yes, Tanvi, Unnati and Anmol all look to be talented. Will have to see if one of them goes on to become top 10 level player. Is there anyone else from womens talent pool who look to have that level potential ?

Not bad result for her. Almost beating the biggest chinese prospect who is 2 years older say everything we need to hear. Tanvi seems to have better chance to succeed than anmol or unnati. She is pretty much all round player with no weaknesses.

There is a 13 y/o also named Tanvi :D Her full name is Tanvi Patri. She recently won u15 asian champ without loosing a set. She spent few early years training in China. She is already a pretty solid player and dominates u15 and u17 domestic tournaments. She recently won the trials for asian u19 champ but couldn't participate cuz some age restriction lol. She has beaten tanvi sharma too and some other regular names in the domestic circuit.
