Re: AITA News .....
And as a result of the withdrawal, the AITA elections concluded with the office bearers being elected unopposed.
However due to the ongoing hearing to a petion filed in the Delhi HC on the sports code violations the elected names cannot be disclosed for the time being.

Re: AITA News .....
^^^ From that article:
Say what?? If the election results are sealed, how will the "new team" jointly take care of the federation work? The Court did not stay the elections but asked AITA and the Sports Ministry to file their response. “The Election shall remain subject to the outcome of the instant writ petition. Let the result of the Election be placed in a sealed cover by the Election Officer, meaning thereby, the result of the Election shall not be published,” the Court said. The matter will be heard on October 14.
Till that time, the outgoing team and the new team will jointly take care of the federation work.

Re: AITA News .....
The new team likely refers to the newly elected team. The courts sealing of the results generally refers to public disclosure. The organization can generally disclose these results internally at least to those that need to know.

Re: AITA News .....
The article indicated that each person was not being opposed but not sure if they were all the incumbents. I don’t know whether the elected slate is publicly known or only known within the AITA.

Re: AITA News .....
^^^ This is all a joke. Of course everybody knows in AITA who are the newly "elected" people. The "single nomination" elections do not happen without somebody sitting down with a list, calling up people to nominate them and getting others to withdraw, in "give and take" negotiations. The slate of single nominations is out there, and many people have it with them.
The court saying "seal it" till Oct 14th has come to be of no effect in the end. If this nomination "adjustment" procedure was not done very carefully, Somdev's lawyers may even have legal grounds to tell the court that the intent behind the court's order to "seal it" was deliberately subverted by the current AITA officials and whoever was the returning officer (basically whoever was in charge of accepting nominations). The announcement that there was only one nomination for every position, probably should not have been made, in my opinion. At least for one or two posts, there should have been alternate candidates, and no attempt should have been made by anybody to dissuade any candidate (or anybody thinking of running) on the basis that "everybody" wanted to avoid an election. But I am sure this was done; and there is probably many pieces of evidence out there too, though they may have been before the court order (by the nomination deadline). But those are finer legal details that only lawyers can figure out.
These are all standard low level political games in so many Indian organizations. All the talk about "let us avoid an election; we are a voluntary group, we should not have politics in here; a unanimously elected board is the best; so let us all cooperate". Standard bull crap.
