There are couple of W75 tournaments in Perth, Western Australia in next 2 weeks and Ankita and Shrivalli will be there for us.

This week's draws-

[R1] (7) Ankita Raina (IND,307) vs. Ayano Shimizu (JPN,314)

[R1] Shrivalli Rashmika Bhamidipaty (IND,374) vs. (Q) Stefani Webb (AUS,967)

Both are playing with different doubles partners this week.

Is Ankita now on a permanent decline ? She will be completing 32 in 4 months time and it is tough to keep making comebacks at that age.

Yes, looking bad. She has had a pretty precipitous decline since she got married, sadly. (Karman too seems to have nearly retired since marrying Gurjot Singh of the hockey team).

^^^ Unlike Karman, Ankita did show a minor return to form a few weeks ago. But apparently she is unable to sustain it.

Good to see Shrivalli win and break the Australian and Japanese duopoly of the second round as the other 15 players left are either Japanese or Australian.

Shrivalli breaks back immediately. I noticed it was 15-30 (Gabriella serving), and Shrivalli raced to the break.
6-5: again serving for the match 30-0, 40-0, 3MPs, WON!

Gabriella beat 6-Jia-jing Lu (CHN, 272) in R1. But Shrivalli had a good chance to close out there in two sets, and missed the first chance. 5-5 in the second set, and I think I should stop following in the hope that that will bring her better luck
It kind of worked (although I couldn't help taking the occasional glance). Served it out at love in the second attempt.

She plays the top seed Talia Gibson (AUS, 162) in the QF.

Phew!!! She did it. 6-3 4-0 to 6-3 7-5 Such a great win against a local talent. Rashmikaa so close to becoming India #2
