Found this piece which would provide some clue about someone 'special' in Manika's life... A guy named Prakhar Shukla who has done some bit roles in Bollywood (Hindi) & owns a Production House...

And Manika Batra follows her upset of world #2 with a crashing straight games win against WR14 Nina Mittelham. Into the QF in Saudi Smash. :notworthy: :notworthy:

What a dominating performance by Manika today :notworthy:

Next up is Hina Hayata (WR#5), the highest-ranked Japanese Women's Player in ITTF Circuit.

These "Smash" Events can change the ranking fortunes of a Player akin Tennis GSs - Manika's ranking should catapult to top-20/22 after this Event based on 350 points gained till date.

However, I'm rooting for another win at least (Within the realm of reality, based on her current form) which will add 350 more points to her kitty & make her a top-12/14 Player when the updated rankings come out & more amazingly in with a chance to be a Top-8 Seed at Paris'24 (Based on the limit of 2 Players per NOC which will limit Chinese/Japanese participation).

Lots to play for tomorrow - JUST DO IT, PLEASE :goodluck:

Manika lost against the Japanese Hina Hayata (WR#5) in 4 games, after winning the first game.

Still, a great run by Manika which will take her to top 25, I think highest ever rankings achieved by an Indian player although I am not 100% sure.

Why is Manika (and Harmeet) even playing here? They seem out of the league here. Or is it that only Indian players’ matches are listed?
