Bops and Ebden lost in first round at Madrid against the pair of Korda and Jordan Thompson 67(4) 57.
They had made the final here last year. So, with that points drop off, Bops has gone down to #4 in live rankings.

Second round loss this week for Bops and Ebden against Bolelli and Vavassori, the same pair whom they had defeated in the Australian open final 26 46 .
Clay season is not going well for the pair as of now.

Just noticed Ebden is playing Eastbourne warmup event with Bops. Is everything still going between these guys?

^^^ No, Bops-Ebden are playing together next week at Wimbledon.
Than, as I understand from some articles Bops will play with Balaji in 3 consecutive weeks- 2 ATP events on clay and than Olympics.

Yes, it looks like Ebden and Peers are also part of the Australian Olympic tennis team, so they are also likely preparing for the Olympics...

Bops' comments on the Olympics
Paris Olympics: Balaji has explosive game, we can’t be written off just like that, says Bopanna (
Sportstar )
“His serve is definitely a big strength. He’s got a powerful shot there. Which definitely helps in the doubles game. No question on it.” Bopanna also said that they don’t just want to show up and get back. They consider themselves worthy of a medal.
...
“This time I was even listening that they have a fantastic medical team there to help the recovery, help the sports science, which is the first time ever, which is amazing. This is what is the progress already for what athletes can get and really see and make a difference ,” he signed off.
I like the last part. We often only hear our athletes complain about the bad support and preparation at Olympics. Maybe India is doing things a bit better now. Good!!

^^^ Balaji/Bopanna withdrew from Umag ATP 250. Wonder what’s up? Although that benefited Anirudh/Arjun to enter the direct acceptance list there.

That is a disastrous performance. Perhaps, caused by an injury or a niggle? In any case, their chances of a medal don't look close to zero...

After lengthy period of western fine dining, the Indian food caused a upset tummy
Anyway jokes apart, in the sunset of his career hope we see some more Indian partnership and mentoring, rather than coaching camps.
