Outage

Hi all,

We had a temporary outage due to potential back-end concerns (high resource usage either due to hacking or other).

I think I have resolved them but will need to keep an eye out for any further concerns.

Thanks a lot Dhruv for resolving this. We are so used to visiting and posting on forum every day that being down even for 1 day means something is missing. Great that you are always around in such situations to resolve these type of outages.

Made a few more changes and updates. Everything should be working now.

Dhruv, thanks foremost for your yeomen efforts. I had reported it earlier but neither admin nor webmaster at sports-India.com emails work. I tried to notify you via these emails earlier too but they bounce back. Is there an alternate email you want to share to alert you in the future?

dhruv at ....... should work. I have set up admin at as well now so emails there should work too. Typically admin gets loads of spam so I had removed it.

Yes, nothing new, but frequent logins have been needed for a few years. Not a big deal though; I got used to it. I think Dhruv has left it that way to keep the forum safe, as he is not constantly monitoring things on an hourly basis...

No, this is different. It doesn’t last even for an hour. Frustrating.

Unfortunately, that has not worked to resolve the issue.

I will need to do something more drastic. Apologies if the site is down in the intervening period. I am travelling due to my day job and can't be on hand to resolve if something changes.

I have made some more changes, disabled a couple of things and likely will need to upgrade the forum and website to something more robust over the weekend.

Hopefully the smaller changes I made have helped in the load.

Dhruv, please take your time. We can wait if the forum goes down. Don't let it cut into your regular job time!

All said and done, this forum has had very little downtime over the years, so we can't complain at all...

So on the new server now.

Theoretically we should be good now. Some posts in the interim may get lost if they get posted on the old server due to nameserver propogation delays.

Apologies, but I can't do much about that.
