Rutuja lost after winning the first set.

At W25 Roehamption, Great Britain (Hard)

[R1] (5) Rutuja Bhosale (IND,330) l. Naho Sato (JPN,498) 64 26 36

After winning that tournament in Tunisia and retiring in QF of second week there, Rutuja has lost in first round in 3 weeks that she has played. I doubt if she has fully recovered from whatever injury she had there after playing 8 consecutive matches.

Rutuja's 10 match win streak in doubles, with three partners, got stopped today. She had won the W25 Nakhon Si Thammarat title with Erika Sema 3 weeks ago and the W25 Roehamption (GBR/ Hard.) with Sarah Beth Grey last week.

At the W100 in Figueira Da Foz (Portugal/ Hard.), Rutu and Emily Webley Smith, seeded 4th, lost the SF today, 36 16 to the 2nd seeds Eudice Chong (HKG)/ Arianne Hartono (NED), after beating Sana Garakani (POR)/ Milla Sequeira (POR), 61 60 in the R1 and Estelle Cascino (FRA)/ YlenaIn-Albon (SUI), 62 62 in the QF.

Another first round loss for Rutuja this week.

At ITF W25 Foxhills, Great Britain (Hard)

[R1] (7) Rutuja Bhosale (IND, 337) l. Martyna Kubka (POL,548) 36 46

Don't know what has happened to Rutuja in singles these days. After that title win in Tunisia and reaching QF the week after, she had 4 first round losses.

I was thinking that she may not have recovered from whatever injury trouble that she had at that time. But, in the same period she has done well in doubles.

Rutuja, partnering Destanee Aiava won the W25 Foxhills title this week. She’s currently at #202 in the doubles rankings with this win. 2 more weeks of W25 tournaments in the British soil for her. :goodluck:

She looked good today (at least in that first set that I watched). I am betting on her to upset the seeded player in R2. Let’s go!!!

You were right on mark on your prediction, Dinesh in calling this upset. I also Rutuja's first round match and she did seem to serve and stroke really well. Mostly she is past her injury troubles and back to her title winning form of couple of months back. In fact today's win was her best since quite some time and the ease with which she gives hope that she can go one better tomorrow.

Go Rutuja.

One sided loss for Rutuja in QF.

[QF] Rutuja Bhosale (IND,337) l. (4) Yuriko Lily Miyazaki (JPN,211) 26 06

Anyway, this performance will take her ranking up a few notches.

It has been a while since Rutuja was at an event by herself so a lot of her results were in general threads... After the fantastic performance on clay at Changsha at the Billie Jean Cup (4-0, winning at #2 spot in dominating fashion) last week, she stayed in China. And she started today with a very good upset of the 5th seed!

At the W50 in Shenzen (Hard)

[R1] Rutuja Bhosle (IND,380) d. (5) Xinyu Gao (CHN, 206), 36 64 63
so
[R2] Rutuja Bhosle (IND,380) vs Fangzhou Liu (CHN,445)

Excellent win by Rutuja continuing on her good form from last week. Xinyu Gao had won the title at the same venue last week without dropping a set.
