ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup

We can share updates and results here.

In this edition, Manika Batra and Sreeja Akula have made the cut.
Stage 1 has 16 groups where round robin matches will be played. Winner of each group moves on to Stage 2 for the knockout rounds.

Group 2
Manika Batra
Wang Manyu
Adina Diaconu

Group 4
Sreeja Akula
Chen Meng
Natalia Bajor

Wang Manyu is WR#2
Chen Meng is the defending champion and WR#4

Manika also had a winning start to her Group 2 campaign with a comfortable 3-1 victory over her Romanian opponent.

Tight match. Saw the last game briefly, it was 7-7 and the next point Adina won. Manika took time out at 7-8 and then won 4 points straight. Happy to see Manika get the win. Also, this is Manika's first world cup appearance as well.

Both Manika & Sreeja lost against fancied opponents in their 2nd Round Robin match & crashed out of the Event. Sreeja was, although, able to take a Set off Chen Meng (WR#4).

This Tournament followed a strange scoring system in the Group stage with a fixed number of four (04) Sets being played irrespective of the number of Sets being won by any Player like it can be 4-0 or even 2-2 also with the Match ending in a stalemate (No clear Winner), in terms of number of Sets won by each Player!!!
