Re: Badminton Asia Team Championships
I read that Tanisha some injury niggle. Then, it is understandable. Else, breaking up a now established top 20 pair would be stupid.

Wow, Anmol seems to be the real deal. The next generation appears to be here at least on the women’s side. Good luck to them in the final!

Re: Badminton Asia Team Championships
We are currently playing the final against Thailand and are up 2-0 after first 2 matches.
Sindhu beat 17th ranked Supanida 21-12 21-12 and Tresa-Gayatri got yet another top 10 win beating #10 Thai pair, 21-16, 18-21, 21-16.
Now, Ashmita Chahila is playing 18th ranked Busanan.

Re: Badminton Asia Team Championships
Ashmita could not reproduce yesterday's form and lost 11-21 14-21.
We are up 2-1, Tanisha is still not fit, so we are playing new pairing of Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra in second doubles. Looks like it may again come down to Anmol Kharab in last match.

Indian women's team wins. Anmol Kharb seems to be a big star in the making. No one expected India to win. Even though many countries sent B teams this is still a great achievement.

Re: Badminton Asia Team Championships
Yes, excellent performance by Indian team. Anmol Kharb was a real surprise winning 3 matches against China, Japan and Thailand when it mattered in the deciding matches. Hope Anmol builds on this and starts playing on pro tour now. She is already beating players ranked in 30's and 40's.
Also very good performance by Tresa-Gayatri getting back their form and showed that they are capable of beating top 10 pairs. Sindhu also had a very good comeback week except for 1 match against Ohori.
Overall, very good week on womens side.

Re: Badminton Asia Team Championships
She beat #29 and #43 in straight games which bodes really well for someone who turned 17 last month. Anmol also beat Ashmita in straight games in December so I think she is already playing at a top-30/35 level.
This is also only her second international tournament.
We need at least 2 out of Anmol, Unnati and Tanvi to become top-10 players.
