We are at 3 out of 3 wins so far today with all 3 of our seeds winning easily.

At the M15 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (Clay)

[R2] (6) S D Prajwal Dev (IND,738) d. Bein Weintraub (ISR,1249) 62 62

Make it 5 out of 6 wins today.

[R2] Nitin Kumar Sinha (IND,986) d. (PR) Dev Javia (IND,ITF-1726) 60 32 retd.

[R2] Rishab Agarwal (IND,946) d. (Q) Faris Zakariya (EGY,1276) 61 62

Now, 2 Indian match of Parth Agarwal and Chirag Duhan against the top 2 seeds are remaining and rain seems to have interrupted the play.

Anyway, 4 of the 5 Indian quarter finalists so far will meet each other. Nitin vs. SDPD and Digvijay vs Rishab.

So, we have 2 Indian semi finalists guaranteed this week. Now, I want at least 1 finalist. For that someone will need to beat one of the top 2 seeds in next 3 rounds.

2 Indian matches of Parth and Chirag against top 2 seeds got pushed to tomorrow due to rain.

So, good for Karan Singh. He will likely to play second seed Vanshelboim from Ukraine playing his second match of the day, That is of course if the second seed beats Chirag Duhan first. Vanshelboim will have to come against 3 Indians back to back in next 3 matches. Hope one of the Indians is able to beat him.

Today at the Monastir M15,

[R2] (Q) Parth Aggarwal (IND) l. (1) Benjamin Lock (ZIM,416), 46 26
[R2] (Q) Chirag Duhan (IND,1931) l. (2) Eric Vanshelboim (UKR,449), 16 16

[QF] (6) S D Prajwal Dev (IND,738) d. Nitin Kumar Sinha (IND,986), 62 76(2)
[QF] Rishab Agarwal (IND,946) d. (4) Digvijay Pratap Singh (IND,491), 36 76(6) 36
[QF] (8) Karan Singh (IND,820) l. (2) Eric Vanshelboim (UKR,449), 26 64 36

So,

[SF] (6) S D Prajwal Dev (IND,738) vs (1) Benjamin Lock (ZIM,416)
[SF] Rishab Agarwal (IND,946) vs (2) Eric Vanshelboim (UKR,449)

So only a couple of the relatively older players made the SFs there - 27 year old Rishab Aggarwal and 26 year old SDPD. Kinda bummed that all the u23 players (DPS, Karan, Chirag, Dev) failed to do that.

Finally, an Indian beat him. Rishab Agarwal makes it to the final by beating the second seed.

[SF] (6) S D Prajwal Dev (IND,738) l. (1) Benjamin Lock (ZIM,416) 63 46 26

[SF] Rishab Agarwal (IND,946) d. (2) Eric Vanshelboim (UKR,449) 67(4) 62 60

Also SDPD and Nitin Sinha won the doubles title beating the second seeded pair in the final.

Rishab could not do much against top seed from Zimbabwe who won back to back titles here.

[F] Rishab Agarwal (IND,946) l. (1) Benjamin Lock (ZIM,416) 26 26
