Khaps, women activists from Haryana to join wrestlers’ protest in Delhi today.
Balwant Nambardar, head of Phogat Khap, said the khaps of Haryana will reach Delhi in large numbers and stay with the wrestlers.
“We have supported our children and we have faith in them. They brought laurels to the nation by winning medals at the international podium. The wrestlers were forced to sit on a dharna. Seeing the seriousness of allegations, the WFI chief should tender his resignation and face the probe. We have high hopes from the Supreme Court,” he added.
Abhimanyu Kuhar, a leader of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, said they have called a meeting on Friday and will extend support to protesters.
“The wrestlers had supported us during the farm agitation and now, the farming community is standing in solidarity with them,” he added.
Hundreds of women activists, meanwhile, gathered in Rohtak and protested against the central government.
Former national player and activist Jagmati Sangwan said there is a need to bring provisions for women’s safety in sports.

Now this has been totally politicized. So, the tribes will take their respective sides. Not good for wrestling but maybe not doing anything is worse too. So, don't know.

Re: WFI sexual harrasment case
We are not leaving the protest site, we don't have faith in Delhi Police: Protesting wrestlers.
Welcoming the filing of an FIR against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the group of protesting wrestlers led by Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik, on Friday, said that they will continue with their sit-in at Jantar Mantar till the time the Wrestling Federation of India's (WFI) sidelined president is not arrested and put behind bars by the Delhi Police.
The wrestlers upped the ante by demanding that not only Singh be arrested, but stripped of all official privileges, including terminating his Lok Sabha membership. Singh is an MP from Kaiserganj from Uttar Pradesh.
The development came after the Delhi Police on Friday told the Supreme Court that it will register an FIR against Singh by the end of the day in the complaint filed by the country's top female wrestlers alleging sexual harassment by the WFI chief.

Re: WFI sexual harrasment case
Vinesh Phogat, one of the many wrestlers who are protesting against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, said she was “pained” to see that many of her fellow sportspersons “don’t have the courage” to join in amid their ordeal. Phogat, along with Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, are at the forefront of the protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
“The entire country worships cricket but not even a single cricketer has spoken up. We aren’t saying that you speak in our favour, but at least put up a neutral message and say there should be justice for whichever party. This is what pains me… Be it cricketers, badminton players, athletics, boxing,” she was quoted as saying by Indian Express.

Re: WFI sexual harrasment case
Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday joined a growing chorus of voices in supporting wrestlers alleging sexual harassment by national federation chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, calling the athletes 'the pride of our nation' and demanding justice for them.
The Trinamool Congress national chairperson also called on the nation to join the protesting wrestlers and ensure 'the guilty (are) brought to book... irrespective of their political affiliation'; the last bit was a jab at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party because Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is a BJP Lok Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh's Kaiserganj constituency.

Olympic bronze medallist Sakshi Malik said, “We wanted action against Brij Bhushan. We are thankful to the apex court for ordering an FIR. But we don’t have faith in the Delhi Police. Let the FIR be registered and Bhushan be arrested, then only we will think about calling off our protest.”

Re: WFI sexual harrasment case
WFI chief Brij Bhushan Singh said, "Every day they (wrestlers) are coming with their new demands. They demanded FIR, FIR was registered and now they are saying that I should be sent to jail and resign from all posts. I am MP because of people of my constituency and not because of Vinesh Phogat. Only one family and Akhara (are protesting) & 90% players of Haryana are with me."

This matter is now totally politicised. I think it has reached the dead end!!!!!! Nothing further is going to happen. Maybe these 3 wrestlers career also ends with these protest!!!!
