17 year old Yuvan Nandal earns his own thread by virtue of winning a tough J300 (J1 or junior Grade 1 by the old nomenclature) abroad. At the Sarawak Cup in Malaysia, Yuvan defeated the 2nd seed Charlie Camus (AUS, 51j; CH 35j) in the QF, another Australian Pavle Marinkov (82j) in the SF (62 62) and then compatriot and third seed Aryan Shah (IND, 52j; CH 39j) 63 64 in the final. He has thus risen to 38 in the junior rankings, and should be able to play the other 3 Slam junior events this year, having made R2 at the AO junior singles this year.
