Re: Coronavirus SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19)
Good question! My best guess is, the virus at this stage is not adding up to hospitalization/deaths. Hence, it is not in news elsewhere in the country. Most of these positives are coming from testing due to travel needs. Hence, it is showing more in places with high number of international travelers. It definitely exists in other parts of the country, but, they don't have any reason to test (testing costs money).

Ah, crap. Hope it goes away fast. Take rest, Prasen. I assume you had 2 doses plus 2 boosters?

Prasen, Hope you recover quickly and feel better soon
It is always amazing that kerala has such high TPR! This really puts into question the testing numbers of other states! It is very likely that lot of states are doing phantom testing.

I believe most of the gulf countries do mandate to present either vaccination or negative Covid test.

Re: Coronavirus SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19)
Thanks so much guys. This board is like second family, we being here for about 20 years now ... Anyway, doctor says to take paxlovid because I am at higher risk due to asthma. That apparently is the best available these days and kills some of the viral load and then your body does the rest. Problem is that I am traveling in Atlanta and so the friend circle is not there to get medicine etc. because I am quarantined. I think this shall pass, Atithee.

That’s what I am saying; however, being vaccinated, which most people are by now, would not cause a lopsided increase in testing, which is the topic of discussion here.sanjay8886 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 9:08 pm I believe most of the gulf countries do mandate to present either vaccination or negative Covid test.

The numbers for Tuesday, June 7th were: ANI 1, AP 20, ARP 0, ASM 0, BIH 15, CHD 19, CHG 10, DNHDD 0, DEL 450, Goa 62, GUJ 72, HAR 227, HP 8, J&K 7, JH 6, KAR 348, KER 1494, LDK 3, LKS 0, MP 17, MAH 1881, MNP 0, MEG 0, MIZ 30, NAG 0, ODI 13, PUD 6, PUN 26, RAJ 61, SKM 4, TN 144, TEL 119, TPR 0, UK 17, UP 127, WB 61
That amounts to a +5,248 total, which raises the 7-day average by a big +358 to 4,208... There were 2 deaths (one each in Delhi and UP) and KER added 5 earlier deaths.
There is a pretty strong wave rising now. Maharashtra about to hit +2000
