No substantial changes in anything from last week, but the Himachal Pradesh growth rate is downright scary now. It might just keep going up if it is at 3.0% now... Shimla is in trouble, if they are getting nearly 400 cases there a day. HP is testing very poorly at 3K to 6K range, that too. Need some 15K tests a day in HP *right now* ... Wait any longer, and it will only get even more difficult to do testing.
Ahmedabad joined the list after so many months. Not that it is any huge growth or anything. Mostly because the national average is so low at under 0.5% that some of these places with not-so-big growths become "bad areas". No, it is not raging in Ahmedabad like when they got 1000+ many months ago. But jaipur in Rajasthan and Indore in MP do have a fairly bad looking growths at 500+ each... Some of these cities are clearly having second waves. If they can keep the testing up, it shouldn't grow like the first time. But they can't take the eyes off that (testing) ball.
No other contiguous areas in the states had a growth rate more than 50% above our national average today (0.482*1.50 = 0.723%) and 300+ new cases... The bad areas together had +23,496 cases to take their total to 2,043,497 cases at a bad area growth rate of 1.16%... The rest of the country had +20,749 cases to take their total to 7,178,501 at a good area growth rate of 0.29%. Today's good areas are where 77.8% of our current cases are.
