Arjun Kadhe won his first challenger doubles title when he won big $135(+H) title at Chengudu,China along with Saketh Myneni.

These are their results this week -

At $135K+H Chengdu Challenger 2019, China

[R1] Arjun Kadhe (IND)/ Saketh Myneni (IND) d. Blake Ellis (AUS)/ Brydan Klein (GBR) Walkover
[QF] Arjun Kadhe (IND)/ Saketh Myneni (IND) d. (1) Mao-xin Gong (CHN) / Zhe Zhang (CHN) 76(4) 61
[SF] Arjun Kadhe (IND)/ Saketh Myneni (IND) d. Runhao Hua (CHN) / Wu Di (CHN) 61 75

[F] Arjun Kadhe (IND)/ Saketh Myneni (IND) d. Ji Sung Nam (KOR) / Min-Kyu Song (KOR) 63 06 10-6

With that Arjun will move upto around 168 in live ATP doubles ranking only a bit below his career high ranking of 166. His singles rankings is only 432. So, mostly Arjun will have to eventually move to doubles full time. He is only 25. So, will probably give it a go in singles for next couple of years and see if he can make it in singles.

Great work this week. I had always felt that his ultimate success would be in doubles. Pretty sure that he will reach top-100... Maybe higher.

He lost in first round here. Siddharth Rawat also played here and got upset in the first round. Both of them played last week too in Egypt and lost in singles first round.

Arjun did win the doubles title last week though and is thru to SF of doubles this week. He has much better potential in doubles and I think he should concentrate on early ( he is 26 now), probably can go close to top 100 there or better.

Arjun is like Divij, plays with all these random players every other week and manages to get a win or two.

Arjun’s doubles partner Roberto tested positive for covid—19 and is now put into an isolation facility in Potchefstroom for 9 days. I wonder what situation Arjun is in. One other Greek player got tested positive as well and posted a story on IG showing how worse the isolation facility is - a small motel-like room, with no AC, and yet charges 140 euros a day for accommodation and food. Life is not easy at all even at the challenger level, let alone the Futures circuit. :-(

And who has improved? They all seem to have fallen away. Golf, badminton, ... same story. Quite disappointing.

Arjun's singles career is almost over. Perhaps he continues playing singles qualifiers because his doubles career is just short of becoming viable (i.e., breaking him into at least the top-150 of doubles rankings, and preferably top-100).

But one Indian player has not fallen away -- Ankita Raina won her first WTA main draw singles match (beating world number 130) yesterday, and (having qualified in) has reached a career-high rank of 156 according to one credible source of live rankings.
