Re: Indian Shooting thread
Anjum and Divyansh takes the Gold, solid shooting by the team winning 16-2.
Apurvi was slight off target today with some shots in the 9s.
Second consecutive world cup gold for Anjum and Divyash, it seems like this will be our team for Tokyo 2020.

Thanks, I thought that's what we concluded last time as well.depleter wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 11:46 amI do think 2 teams will be allowed if 4 people qulaifySin Hombre wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 11:43 am There was confusion last world cup as well but why can't we field 2 teams?
Manu + Saurabh finish 1st in both qualifying part 1 and 2, and are now in the gold medal match. This pair is probably our best chance of a medal in Tokyo as of today.

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Wow!!!!! Saurabh and Manu have just been excellent during the qualifying rounds and they are in the gold medal match next.
In qualification round 1, they scored 291+295 = 586 to finish at first while 2nd place is at 582 and 3rd further down at 580.
And in qualification 2 they went rampant to score 591 (294 for Manu(97+98+99) +297 for Saurabh (99+98+100) and finish first while 2nd is down at 583 while 3rd way below at 578.
Just for a perspective of those 2nd qualification scores
Manu score - 294 - WR at 587
Saurabh score -297 - WR at 594

Re: Indian Shooting thread
End of a very successful WC for India. Probably the best performance ever by the team given the high quality field.
5Gold 1Silver
2 fourth place finishes(Manu and Elavenil)
1 5th place(Rizvi, good to see him back)
creditable 9th place by Sunidhi in 3P event.
Deepak and Yashashwini does have potential to win medal at the WC level.
Lots of positives from this WC.
Only worrying in the men's 3P and Heena Sidhu, to an extend.

Re: Indian Shooting thread
And this ends up as the best shooting world cup ever for India winning 5 out of 10 golds much ahead of China which won only 2 golds. Great showing by our team just year before Olympics. And Manu-Saurbh win their third consecutive gold at the world cups. They are as dominant as one can be in shooting in an event.

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Wonderful to see us dominate a World Cup in Shooting. The gradual rise of India in this sport has been remarkable over the past two decades.
Sad, therefore, that Rajyavardhan Rathore is not in this ministry, especially since he was doing a good job with the Sports ministry. Apparently, the Olympic silver medallist will now have bigger party responsibilities in Rajasthan.
Interestingly Rao Inderjit Singh, second-time BJP MP from Gurugram (Gurgaon) in Haryana (and Minister of State in the union cabinet), was a former shooter too (skeet), and won a bronze at a Commonwealth championship.

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Shooting has been dropped from the 2022 CWG. Standard nonsense from the colonial b**tards

Let's see if Batra has any clout. I'm all for a boycott and no post Brexit trade deals with the host nation...unless shooting is reinstated

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Agree with a boycott. CWG is a useless event, focus on the Asian Games especially with Australia joining.
Re: Indian Shooting thread
Seems we are heading towards another fruitless shotgun world cup at Lahiti in terms of olympic quota after Trap events complete in Men and Women.

Re: Indian Shooting thread
I always wonder why we created a thread to discuss shooting of an Indian.
