Another shotgun World Cup starts today, based on previous world cups, I don’t have hope of quota from any event except Men’s Trap. Other events like skeet and women’s trap have to wait for Asian championship for quota

In line with expectations Skeet women fizzled out after a not so bad day one of their 2 day qualifications.

Now in Men's skeet Sheeraz Sheik is one of the 4 guys who shot perfect 50/50 in 2 rounds on day 1 and Mairaj Ahmad is not far behind at 49/50. But there are 3 more rounds totaling for 75 points remaining for day 2 and anything can happen. I would expect losing more than 2-3 points would make one drop out of final. Hoping for a pleasant surprise final here.

Sheeraz Sheik had a very poor 3rd round of 21 which might cost him finals. Miraj Ahmad still in contention with 24,25,24 in 3 rounds

Another so close yet so far......Mairaj was in the last set of shooters to shoot and he needs a 25 for direct qualification, 24 for a shootout and he finishes it off with a 23.

In women’s Trap, no Indians in contention. Barring miracles we need not even expect quota in this category.In women’s skeet though Ganemat Sekhon seems interesting upcoming prospect

In men’s Trap both of our Topguns Prithviraj Thondaiman and Kynan Chenai are leading the board 50/50 after 2 rounds. Both have been performing consistently in the qualification cycle so far and unfortunately couldn’t win a quota so far but i am starting to feel we may genuinely fancy our chances at Tokyo in this category of shooting also if at least one of these wins a quota tomorrow

2nd day jitters continue as a pattern for our guys. For Prithiraj it was in the 1st two rounds of the day with 22, 22 which ended hopes it was final round for Kynan with a 22. They have one last world cup left in qualification cycle and asian championship of course

Looking at performance of other nation shooters who could obtain a quota in this worldcup, their performances are no way consistent.
Andreas Makri from Cyprus who got a silver in this Changwon worldcup stood at 100th position in the last world cup held just a month back at Al Ain, UAE.

Rifle and Pistol shooter average scores seem lot more consistent compared to Shotgun categories.So a quota obtained be it in worldcups or Continental championships should help in this shotgun events where shooter performances are highly random.

Munich world cup started today.

10m air rifle women's

This time Apurvi and Elavenil were ranked 1st and 2nd in qualifications while Anjum finished in 11th missing the final.

In 25m pistol Women

Rahi had a great precision round of 294 and currently in 2nd, Manu is yet to shoot.

Manu had a bad 289 in precision which is actually her strong point....

In 50m 3p men

In elimination, Chain singh easily qualified but Sanjeev Rajput had a dismal performance and even failed to qualify for the qualification tomorrow. Swapnil Kusale was amazing and he would have easily qualified but he is listed in MQS. sigh......

What a stellar show by Apurvi, topped a high scoring qualifying with 633(the cut off was 630 itself ) and then finished the final with a bang.
Her 2nd WC Gold medal this year.
Elavenil was also very strong but unlucky to miss that medal.
Anjum's score was also very good at 628.9
in MQS, Shreya Agarwal scored 629.1 and Mehuli 624.5
Would be very disappointed if we dont win an Olympic medal at this event, with this kind of a world class lineup

I think we can also say that Apurvi is the best female shooter ever from our country. Touchwood.
What I love about her is how down to earth she is, no unnecessary statement, stays away from limelight, media and social sites, always focussed on work.
She is such an excellent example and motivation for the young shooters from our country.

Meanwhile, disappointment in 3P continues.
Rahi is 2nd at end of stage1 in 25m
Manu is basically out of contention for finals. Really poor showing from her, no more excuses from her.

I would reserve my judgement on that that till she wins a medal at a major event ( she stood 5th in Asian games and 4th in the world championships last year). But, she certainly has been super consistent this year. 2 golds in 3 world cups and just missing a medal (4th) in the third world cup. She is the best shooter in the world in her category this year.

She has been a super shooter in qualifying since last few years. Now, she has improved her performances greatly in finals too. I think time to elevate her to the A list in our Tokyo medal prospects alongside Bajrang and Sindhu.

Some real character shown by Manu, after below par 289 yesterday she scored 296 today in the rapid stage to qualify for the finals of 25m
