Poor mehuli, had somewhat a similar fate even at CWG but she her qualifying score was good.
She has the potential to convert this YOG medals to an Olympic medal.

Great news. Also Jeremy's winning margin of 11 kgs. is big and indicates that he dominated the competition. Jeremy is only 15 and if nurtured well can become a medal prospect in 6 years time at olympics.

Manu does a 576 in qualification. If I am right this is her highest in qualifying...She does need to improve by about 4 odd though....for a final in olympics.

Manu wins India's second Gold.
Got a bit tight in the final but at the end she delivered.
Another feather in her cap. Congratulations.

Yes, Manu did well in the last 3 shots with a steady 10.3, 10.1 and 10.2. Had a lot of 9's before that after a good start. Overall average final score of 236.5 but I will take it for a gold.

Yes, her best score in 6 series. But, in CWG in 4 series he shots a 388 in qualification which extrapolated to 6 series goes to 582. She may not need a 580 for an olympic final. If one looks at Rio, a 576 may be enough. To be safe, she has to hit 578 or so.

She was in her best form at the time of CWG and had a super final score too of 240.9.

She is still not in that sort of form but better than Asiad and world championships. Hopefully, with this gold she will have some mental demons out of her way and shoot like at CWG in future.

IDK how weight categories work, but does this 15 year old weigh around 62 kg?

Its been a very busy and exhausting year for all our shooters particularly Manu who is participating in both Juniors and Seniors.
She ends the season with an Olympic Gold, it will definitely help her forget the disappointments of Asian Games. Next year should be a bit easy and she can concentrate on qualifying for Tokyo 2020.

Btw the mixed team events here in shooting in very interesting.
The top ranked player in the qualification pairs up with the lowest ranked player of the opposite gender.
It will be tough for Manu and Mehuli to win team medals.

Amazing performance by the Indians so far! India is currently 3rd in the medals table at this stage, which is quite rare for India in a world level meet. Although it's possible that not all the best are here in each event, it's quite likely that many of the best are competing.

Hopefully, these youngsters can lift our performance at the summer Olympics in 2020 and 2024!

Yes, very good performance so far.

Archana Kamath has reached the SF in womens singles table tennis winning her PQF and QF matches in 7 games. She will play a Chinese in the SF today.

Indian table tennis is certainly looking up.
