Starts on the 30th of this month.

Srikanth has his best ever chance of finally winning a medal at the highest level. He was initially drawn in the same quarter as LCW but the latter's late withdrawal means that he only has 2 the Indonesian youngsters Ginting and Christie left.

Prannoy will have a tough task but still in a relatively winnable quarter for him with Lin Dan, CTC and Shi Yuqi.

On the women's side, Saina will have to beat Inatnon and Marin in successive rounds to medal. Again, a relatively good draw for her given her winning record against both opponents.

Sindhu on the other hand will have to likely beat Okuhara in the quarters and that's always a tough match-up for her.

Very difficult to judge their current form. They have played very little since Commonwealth games and the results have been mixed. So, let us hope for the best especially from Srikanth and Sindhu.

They defeated WR #15 German pair in a comeback win for entering into the third round ... Next, they r facing WR #7 Malaysian pair, Soon Huat Goh and Shevon Jemie Lai, who they defeated in Commonwealth Games.

In the doubles, Satwik-Chirag scored an excellent win over higher ranked British pair, they r having a tough second round against WR #8 Danish pair ... Ashwini and Sikki also started with a win, they fought back after losing the first game against Taipei pair ... Next, they r facing WR #2 Japanese pair.

In the doubles, Satwik-Chirag scored an excellent win over higher ranked British pair, they r having a tough second round against WR #8 Danish pair ...

The British pair were a bronze medalists at Rio olympics and beat Satwik-Chirag in CWG. So, it was great to see them get a revenge here.

Also good win for Satwik-Ashwini over a seeded pair in mixed doubles.

Finally, our doubles pairs are winning some matches at world championship level although they still have a mountain to climb to go ahead here.

Srikanth looks shaky here with a not so comfortable first round and now dropped a set (game) in the 2nd round against the #48 Spaniard.

Yes, Srikanth made lots of unforced errors to lose the second game. The Spanish player gained in confidence and was playing some excellent badminton but still Sri should have won in easier manner. Glad that he did raise his game after he was down 9-11 in the third game.

Srikanth has as good draw that one can get to reach the SF at least, playing 38th ranked Malaysian Daren Liew next and then likely 12th ranked Indonesian Ginting in the QF. But, he will have to play much better than today to go thru his next 2 opponents.

Sindhu scored a comfortable win over Fitriani ... Next, she is facing Korean Ji Hyun Sung, Sindhu lost against her in their last meeting at the Asian Championship in April.
Sai scored a comfortable win against his Spanish opponent ... He is facing Danish challenge of Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus, Sai has losing record 0-3 against him.
Srikanth surprisingly stretched to three games by his Spanish opponent ... Next, he is facing Malaysian Daren Liew, interestingly they never faced each other in last 5 years and before that Liew won both matches which they played in 2012 and 2013.
Bad loss for Prannoy against lowly ranked Brazilian after winning the first game comfortably ... Sameer also failed to overcome the challenge of Lin Dan.
In the doubles, our all players lost but Satwik-Chirag and Manu-Sumeeth gave a decent fight to their top-10 opponents.
