Re: Women's $25K ITF - China/Thailand July 2018
Nice and easy win over a 25 year old Belgian with a career high ranking of 178. Interestingly, Tammy Hendler won her first ITF $25K title at the age of 16, beating Ankita Bhambri in the final in Lagos (Oct 2008), and won the same title 3 years later beating Donna Vekic (the current girl friend of Stan Wawrinka), who made R4 at Wimbledon this year. In Sept-Oct 2011, she also won $25K tournaments in Japan and Indonesia, and played all four Slam qualifiers in 2012. But she hasn't quite been able to get back to those levels since.

It would be nice if we end the week with our top 2 women both in the top 200.

I feel Ankita Raina is not playing top 200 tennis. If you are really top 200 then you have to play at that level consistently to justify your ranking. Hitting straight at your opponent will not win points for you. You are giving her too many options. You need to do little bit more.

[SF] (2) Ankita RAINA (IND,214) d. Na-Lae HAN (KOR,232) 16 75 60
Ankita has broken twice in the final set of the SF, and is serving at 4-0.
She holds at 15. 5-0
And she breaks again at 15. 6-0
Ankita is through to the final!
Second time this week that she lost the first set badly, then roared back to bagel the final set. It would be good to avoid those early hiccups.

11 aces in total, 66% first serve and 80% first serve points won. That's massive. Only Serena Williams has better serve than KKT.

Those live rankings do not include the 30 points that Ankita earned this week and 18 (so far) that KKT has earned.
In fact, KKT is just one win away from making it to top 200. And Ankita should comfortably make it to USO qualifiers draw (but obviously she has the Asian Games instead).
