Omkara...congratulations to Mayurica on her first major film! Just saw the trailer and only then did I realize what you meant. I would love to watch it. I live in the US, so didn't get a chance to watch the original telecast. Is there a way I can find it in archives somewhere?

Here is a link of the video shared on CNA website

Voices under the mango tree

For more than 6 months this became a part of my and Mayurica Biswas 's life. A whodunnit focusing on layers of complex issues that plague India today, a far cry from the world that gets portrayed in the Yash Raj / bollywood films, that often go unrecognized. Glad I pushed M to go for this. With ample support from family it finally got broadcast last week and received best ratings among other stories in the series.

Please watch, share and let us know what you think

Dangal is one of the best movies with sports background. I think it is easily the best bollywood film of 2016 too. The only sports based Bollywood film which comes close is Chak de India. But, that was more on imaginary theme ( Indian womens hockey team has never won a world cup ) and this is on a real life story of Phogat sisters and their father. It is really inspiring to see how Mahavir Phogat brought up his daughters as world class wrestlers in a small village in Haryana where women are not supposed to even go out of the house.

Yes, sad news. She was one our finest actresses and sad that she passed away at a time when her daughter is about to make her entry in bollywood.

Really, really sad that she left so suddenly. I am probably among the oldest fans of hers here, as she became my favorite when I was just six years old (she is just 2 months younger than me).

Here is the song that made me a fan of Sreedevi. In the Malayalam movie Kumarasambhavam (1969). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0ckOQUCFbc -- Unbelievable talent, at age 6. As the young Subrahmanya doing a concert in some 9 forms, for her parents Siva and Parvati. This was her very first scene in Malayalam movies (which is where she first became really famous).

Here she is, 2 years later - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHzJDdqsJWQ ... She won the Kerala state award from that movie - Poompatta (butterfly, 1971) that was actually a children's movie that we all loved.

Then here is one from the movie where she made me want to marry her - acting as a princess in Sathyavan Savithri (1977), with Kamala Hasan when he was making it big in Malayalam movies too - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgQF4ikX7pI

She will for ever live in our hearts.

In the midst of coronavirus, bollywood has lost 2 of it's finest actors due to cancer.

Yesterday serious actor Irfan Khan passed sway and today 80,s superstar Rishi Kapoor has passed away. Enjoyed so many of his movies.

RIP .

Big losses, both of them. It is also sad to see people like them not getting the kind of remembrance they would've otherwise had, because Covid-19 is taking everybody's attention away.

SPB's passing was hard for me to take. I'm still not over it. He was that kind of an amazing singer. But people remember him as among the greatest human beings in the entertainment industry too. So humble, so sweet and so friendly. Why do great people leave us so early. If Covid were to take the lives of celebrities, why must it take one of last ones that we would want to see depart?

Om Shanti for ever, "nAdaSarIrAparA!" ...

That live program was just this year in Thrussur, Kerala. Makes me tear up seeing him sing. Malayalees absolutely love that Tamil song.

We were all big fans of him. That Sankarabaranam record (all the songs from that movie) played almost everyday in our house when I was growing up.
