Saw bits of the Bangalore matches and didn't see the AO qualifying match. Noticed that the Bangalore hard court was among the slowest hard courts that I have seen with the ball sitting up almost like a clay court. This played to Sumit's strength when playing against normal hard court players. Not sure if the court surface here was faster (or normal paced) and that would make it much tougher for Sumit to repeat his Bangalore success.

The AO courts are also reputed to be faster than usual - as fast if not faster than the US Open Courts.

The surface was certainly fast but Sumit was also very frustrated and ball bashing a lot.

Vishnu gave a walkover in his QF match against top seeded Korean Kwon.

I hope he is fit enough to play doubles SF later today.

Vishnu and Bala are playing their doubles SF right now but lost the first set 2-6 against Jeevan and Rungkat.

Jeevan/Rungkat proved too strong for Vishnu/Balaji and romped home in straight sets 2 & 3 , they seem to be favourites to make it to a prestigious GS MD.

As expected the Thai Twins have taken their appointed place in the finals to face Jeevan & Rungkat
