What's your long term goal? If it is to be of a high calibre tennis player, these should not matter.

sameerph wrote: Sat Oct 21, 2017 4:40 pm There is only a 25% probability of drawing a seed in first round in any draw of 32. . Here in Vietnam and China, of the 6 non seeded Indians (barring Yuki who himself is a seed), 5 got seeded opponents in first round. That is as bad draw that one can get.
Wouldn't that be if all 6 non-seeded Indians drew the top 6 seeds? (I know you meant a pretty bad draw. And, I agree. Just nitpicking as is my habit :-))

Surprised that you didn't correct the probabilities; the chances are 33% for a non-seeded player and not 25.

At $50K+H Ho Chi Minh City Challenger 2017, Vietnam

[R1] Vijay Sundar Prashanth (IND,548) vs (1) Taylor Fritz (USA,99)
[R1] (4) Yuki Bhambri (IND,146) vs Jose Statham (NZL,308)
[R1] (PR) Saketh Myneni (IND,722) vs (6) Akira Santillan (AUS,162)
[R1] Prajnesh Gunneswaran(IND,228) vs Marc Polmans (AUS,294)
[R1] Sumit Nagal (IND,312) vs (2) Mikhail Youzhny (RUS,126)
Yes, this is a tough draw for all the unseeded Indians as many of their opponents are in good form. Give Prajnesh a 50% shot while the others are decided underdogs. Yuki would be favored if he is focused and ready for this tournament.

Agree with you in terms of long term. Finally playing better players is likely to improve your game. But, in the short terms it hurts someone like Sumit who is eyeing to get a spot in the Australian open qualies. Also even in long run I don't know if getting beaten by over-matched opponents like Youzhny ( who is the final this week in Ningbo too) will help him much. Similar for Saketh who is coming after a long injury break and draws a seeded player.

In the Ningbo final, Jeevan and Rungkat lost in the final.

At $125K Ningbo Challenger 2017, China

[F] (1) Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan (IND)/ Christopher Rungkat (INA) l. Radu Albot (MDA) / Jose Statham (NZ) 57 36

Given the financial condition of Indian players, I guess a slightly better draw helps. Law of averages catches up if you play a lot of tournaments and that too at your will. That's not the case.

Good job by Sid to qualify into the main draw with a good win over the wily fox Matsui. His reward is a reasonably low ranked R1 opponent.

Saketh's match against Akira Santillan is the second match this evening on Centre Court -- should be around 8:30pm there (6pm IST).

This pair (Nagal/Ly) didn't just make the Wimbledon junior doubles final in 2015, they won the title!
Saketh plays Santillan in R1 of both singles and doubles...

Most challengers have one or two courts live streamed on atp site. Are you referring to live broadcast on tv?
