Purav, that is :p

Thanks, good highlights. He had 2 breakpoints at 3-0 in the final set to go 2 breaks up before he lost the plot. Appeared to play some tired looking shots in the end, so his fitness may have been a factor in the end.

He hit some absolutely brilliant backhands in this match - better than some his previous matches which I have seen, so he seems to have improved on that aspect of his game.

True, even in the earlier match he hit some superb backhand winners. That 40-15 on Dzmuhur serve at 3-0 was a sort of match point like opportunity missed. Dzmhur saves those break points with some great serving and shot making but Yuki's team will need to work on this mental aspect too as this is at least 3rd or 4th time this year that he has lost a match from a break up in third set.

Yuki has a decidedly mediocre first serve, so serving out a victory isn't easy for him unless he is also winning his share of backcourt rallies. Strangely, he is pretty effective with his second serve perhaps because the opponents make mistakes attacking it while they perhaps simply focus on returning the first serve which isn't difficult against Yuki's first serve.

Divij plays his doubles final today at 5pm Indian time.

At €589K European Open 2017, Antwerp, Belgium

[SF] Scott Lipsky (USA)/ Divij Sharan (IND) vs. Santiago Gonzales (MEX) / Julip Peralta (CHI)

Gonzalez and Peralta also appears to be a new pair but in the first 4 weeks they have gone SF,SF,QF and now final. So, they should start as favorites but our pair has beaten 2 higher ranked teams this week and hope for another upset.

Great job by Sharan/Lipsky to win the European Open title in Antwerp, Belgium. They beat the second and third seeds on the way to the title, in a field that was headed by the legendary Bryan twins. Terrific stuff for Divij, who will be at a new career high doubles ranking of 50 tomorrow!

Strange choice for Divij this week. Never heard of Clayton although he is ranked 159.

Many congratulations to Divij. I doubt you have a lot of choice while playing challengers if you don't have predetermined partners. As long he wins, no problem
