Also great upset from Prerna defeating last week's finalist. We will have 6 Indians in round 2 if Pranjala wins her first round match.
Pranjala does win her match easily and Rishika won against Jeniffer.
[R1] (Q) Rishika SUNKARA (IND,1049) d. (Q) Jennifer LUIKHAM (IND,NR) 61 61
[R1] (2) Pranjala YADLAPALLI (IND,511) d. Angelique SVINOS (AUS,890) 61 61
Next,
[R2] (2) Pranjala YADLAPALLI (IND,511) vs. Isabelle BOULAIS (CAN,1018)
[R2] (Q) Rishika SUNKARA (IND,1049) vs. (5) Andrea KA (CAM,627)
Second round matches of Nidhi and Rutuja just started.
Expected Pranjala to go all the way here. Did she get disturbed by the continuous rain stoppages here ?
That was the only match that got completed today. Now they still have to complete 3 second round matches along with QF onwards and we are at end of Saturday. Don't know when they will complete this tournament.
It looks like finally they have got a good rain free day here after 2 weeks. They got the QF and SF for last week done today as also all qualifying matches for third week.
[QF] (4) Rutuja BHOSALE (IND,619) vs. YeXin MA (CHN,1126) 26 63 10-12
[QF] (Q) Rishika SUNKARA (IND,1049) d. Isabelle BOULAIS (CAN,1018) 62 60
[QF] Prerna BHAMBRI (IND,954) d. (6) Tamara CUROVIC (SRB,644) 76(2) 61
[F] Prerna BHAMBRI (IND,954) l. YeXin MA (CHN,1126) 16 26
It seems Prerna did not have much left in her after playing 2 matches yesterday. This Chinese girl proved the stumbling block for us this week. She beat 3 of our players - Nidhi, Rutuja and now Prerna.
Hope this week our stronger players - Pranjala, Riya who will be back, Zeel and Rutuja do well.
This Chinese girl Ma continues to trouble our players. She beat Prerna in the last week's final in the morning and upset Riya in the evening. On the other hand, Prerna folded up tamely in both the matches. It shows up poorly on the fitness levels of our players when they have to play multiple matches in a few days.
Jennifer LUIKHAM (IND) 6-4 6-2 Sabastiani LEON (MEX)
YeXin MA (CHN) 6-4 6-0 Rishika SUNKARA (IND)
Aldila SUTJIADI (INA) 6-3 6-2 Rutuja BHOSALE (IND) [5]
Zeel DESAI (IND) [8] 6-0 6-1 Sai Samhitha CHAMARTHI (IND)
Pranjala YADLAPALLI (IND) [2] 7-6(4) 6-0 Alice GILLAN (GBR)
Disappointing loss for Rutuja against an Indonesian player who also reached SF last week and the Chinese girl Ma continues the winning run against our players.
Good result for 18 year old Jeniffer Luikham making another QF here.
Next,
[QF] Jennifer LUIKHAM (IND,1164) vs. (1) Gozal AINITDINOVA (KAZ,456)
[QF] (2) Pranjala YADLAPALLI (IND,511) vs. (8) Zeel DESAI (IND,826)
Pranjala will await the winner of 4th seeded Frenchwoman Boualem and 6th seeded Serbian Curovic whose match was interrupted and will be finished tomorrow.

Not quite the final yet! Pranjala needs to win the SF next, but I think she has a good chance of winning the title this week.
