Yes, superb performance by Sindhu. She has destroyed couple of very talented Chinese in last 2 matches and now has unbeaten record against Chinese in the world championships.
So, it is a repeat of Rio semi final today. Hope the result is the same.
Women's Singles is the only event where China is not represented . They are there in other 4 finals. Japan have have got 2 finalists, Indonesia 2, India 1 and Denmark 1.

What time is the final tonight?
I believe the women's singles is the second match on the agenda, with the first match at 1pm, ie, 6:30pm IST, so Sindhu should be on by about 8pm IST. Am I right?

Add the women's doubles bronze in 2011 to this list and we have a medallist for 7 consecutive years nowSin Hombre wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 7:14 am 2012 OG - Saina bronze
2013 WC - Sindhu bronze
2014 WC - Sindhu bronze
2015 WC - Saina silver
2016 OG - Sindhu silver
2017 WC - at least 2x medals
The combined performances of Saina and Sindhu seems to be steadily upticking.
We need more medal prospects to join the party soon though and Srikanth has been the closest since 2015 but may lack the toughness to do it.
Unfortunately, no one else is even close though Prannoy has the talent but lacks the consistency.

Sindhu wins the second game 22-20. Last shot was an incredible 73 shot rally which was won by Sindhu.

Just incredible badminton. THat 73 shot rally was beyond belief.
Sindhu has had big leads in both games -- 11-5 in the first game, and Okuhara then speeded up the play to close the gap and win narrowly 21-19.
In the second, Sindhu was up 20-17, but couldn't convert the three game points. Then that incredible last rally to win it.
But I hope that hasn't taken too much out of her, because she trailed 1-5, now 2-5, having led through most of the first two games.
She's fine: 5-5!

Incredibly close match. Sindhu was up 9-7, but it's 9-8 now. There's so little to choose between them.
Okuhara is slightly better at the net. Sindhu's reach gives her great advantages. Both are supremely athletic. 11-9 at the change of ends. Sindhu leads.

Okuhara's coaches seem to be more effective. Whatever they tell her in the change-overs seems to make a lot of difference. 11-all now.

One of the live commentaries say...
"Desperate challenge from Sindhu and it is unsuccessful and she gets yellow card" 12-12 now.
Why did she get a yellow card?
