It has happened in the past in an ATP tournament. Vijay Amritraj at M emphasis in 1976. Vijay won quite a few tournaments in the US.arjun2761 wrote:Yes, that would be an interesting happenstance.
However, making a challenger finals in doubles is pretty average even by Indian standards where the Leander has won 8 Mens doubles GS titles (including the US Open) among 54 ATP tour level titles and I'm sure Mahesh and Rohan have also won ATP tour level or higher mens doubles titles in the US.
In singles, I don't recall too many Indians making challenger finals in the US although IIRC Leander (Binghamton) and Somdev (Knoxville) have won challenger titles in the US.

Nice win over a strong Argentine pair, takes Leander to 49 in the doubles rankings.

Surprise to see Lee traveled to Europe for Swiss open, instead of playing Atlanta open ... This week, he is partnering Croatian Antonio Sancic and they r having a tough match against Brazilan pair.

Surprising choice of partner as well. Good luck with the new Croatian partner!

Re: Leander Paes thread...
I think Leander is just going tourney to tourney with just whoever is available. Likely difficult to find a partner with longer term commitment at this stage of his career.
I wonder if Saki / Lee can have a go at it in doubles for few months before Leander moves out. After a month or two, I hope they start finding challenger events where they can both fit in (singles + doubles for Saki).

Re: Leander Paes thread...
Also did anyone notice that for the first time in many years, Leander Paes is not part of Washington Kastles..
I saw Frances Tiafoe, Bruno Soares and Bryan brothers who have played doubles for Kastles this season.
I don't know if they did not select Leander or whether Leandar did not want to play this year for Kastles, whatever it is, I am getting the feeling that Leander is going to call it quits sometime after us open.

I am assuming it was a decision taken by Leander based on the above noteBoth are welcome additions to the Kastles roster especially since the retirement of team leader and multiple grand slam champion Leander Paes.

Re: Leander Paes thread...
Leander has entered with Purav at next week's Winston Salem. They have been given a wildcard.
Looks like Divij wants to rest next week and perhaps Leander didn't have any partner so asked Purav who was available.
