Played a good 1st set but was hampered by a shoulder injury. Was playing yesterday as well with heavy strapping on the shoulder. Took an extended toilet break at 1 set all and had physio at 2-5 but it wasn't to be.

Oh, that is sad. I ghope she does not have to take an extended break as things are just looking up for her.

Yuki plays third match on court 4 today against Polansky whom he had lost to in French open qualies. Jeevan plays his doubles on the same court following Yuki's match.

Yuki tied 1 set all after 1 hour 58 mins against Polanksy at 67(4) 76(7). He has had a lots of missed opportunities in this match. He was 0-7 on breakpoints in first set 2 of which were set points with Polansky serving at 5-6, 15-40. Then, in the second set he was a break up throughout and served for the set at 5-4 but got broken. Thankfully, he did well in second set tie break coming back from 2-5 down to clinch it.

Yes, excellent comeback win by Yuki. He should have won in straights sets but the match seemed headed the way he lost to Polansky at French open qualies in 2 tie breaks but Yuki dug deep from 2-5 down in the second set tie break, won that set and then dominated the third set where he lost only 2 points on his own serve and took Polansky to break point in almost every game.

Very nice to see this solid win over a good player who is quite comfortable on grass -- and particularly nice that he was able to avenge his narrow loss in Q1 of the French Open to the same player.

Yuki rises to 216 in the live rankings, just ahead of Rajeev Ram (218), Di Wu (219) and RamK (220).

Nice win by Yuki. Good to see him dig deep and pull out the win although he should have won this match a lot easier as he had 14 break points on his opponents serves versus only 2 on his own serve, so this was a game he was dominating on the ground.

His next opponent is either #107 Go Soeda or a potentially more dangerous (although lower ranked) Taylor Fritz. Hopefully, Yuki can get at least another win here.

The most heartening feature was his play in the final set -- particularly his serving. Just two points dropped on serve in the whole set, and he won the final game at love. So he seems to be slowly regaining some confidence in his match-play. It will be a real pity if he nonetheless misses the Wimbledon qualifiers.
